Problem with access my media files after upgrading to DSM 7.1-42661

When selecting the Permissions tab and going into “System Internal user”, I’m missing the Custom column. The instructions that I’ve seen so far show going into this column to setup the permissions. I selected Read/Write since I don’t have access to Custom.

PlexMediaServer only needs Read/Write (WRITE if you intend to optimize/DVR)

It’s easiest to do in FileStation.

1. Right click the shared folder
2. Properties
3. Permissions
4. Grant permission for PlexMediaServer to read
   ( Create the permission rule if you need to )
5. “Apply to this folder, sub-folders, and files” (IMPORTANT)

CUSTOM was only needed for migrating the “Plex” shared folder
