Yeah you’re right… I’ve ordered a different device to use purely for Plex now. Nightmare!

@Moussa is there any update on a defined/permanent fix? 2 years now and users are still having serious issues with Plex on PS5.

I’m running a PfSense router and this fixed the connection issue for me, may help if you are running PfSense.

  • Login to PfSense
  • Services → DNS Resolver & enable it.
  • Click on the custom options.
  • Add the following to custom options:

server:

private-domain: “plex.direct”

  • Click Save
  • Click Apply
