RasPlex 0.4.0 RC1 is out !

Even high bitrate stuff is playing well on my pi (8 to 10GB in size). Is your pi connected by USB Wifi module or directly with ethernet? USB Wifi is apparently a bit flakey with the Pi.

Absolutely, only ethernet in my house :D. 100MB for the rasp, 1GB for the rest.

Well that's me stumped, sorry!

I don't have any very-high-bitrate 1080p stuff in my collection (storage constraints) so it might be a combo of the DTS and the high bitrate resolution that is causing the pi to struggle. Perhaps try an install of raspbmc on another SD card to see if it can play it smoothly? If it can then we know there's an issue with rasplex and not just the pi's horsepower in general.

I never had any playback issues with my PI, not on OpenElec not on the previous version of Rasplex, but now on RC1, so must have something to do with the new version.

RasPlex 0.4.0-rc2 has been released!

Check out the release notes and download it at https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/releases/tag/0.4.0-rc2

If you are running 0.4.0-rc1, you should be able to update by simply selecting the "prerelease" channel, and selecting "check for updates". Then just let it install, and reboot. Please let us know if you have issues with updating, as it's a new system we are testing out (and while we've tested it thoroughly, very nervous as this is the first time it'll be running live!)

As always, please report bugs at tiny.cc/rasplex-bugs, not on facebook :)

A couple notes:

We've added a troubleshooting / known workarounds page:

https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/wiki/Troubleshooting

Please check this before filing bugs. If you are experiencing the calibration issue on updating from a previous release, please do a fresh install.

You can view the issues that were closed by this release here:

https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/issues?milestone=6&state=closed

And the issues that we're working on for rc3 here:

https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/issues?milestone=7&state=open

You marked "missing plex windows definitions" as closed, and it is closed, but it's not fixed in rasplex, as the upstream changes are not in.

Why has this been posted in this thread it is not relevant to this thread and this thread is already too long because of duplicate posts and irrelevant posts.

Please keep to your own rules for the forum.

Also, please add the workaround/trouble shooting to a pinned locked new thread.

This forum is a complete mess, sorry for the rant, but finding any useful information is becoming impossible.

Regards.
