RasPlex Support

Please do not upgrade to 0.2.0 if you want to use the builtin updater! (I just noticed it's broken).

We'll release 0.2.1 later today which will resolve this issue.

I'm trying to update to 0.2.1.

At first I got the message that I already was on the latest version 0.1.36 ( i think). Then I changed to "bleeding" and it updated itself to 0.1.39. This was yesterday morning (CET)

I am now trying to get to 0.2.1. With "bleeding" disabled it tries to update to 0.2.0 which results in a "script error". When I enable "bleeding" it tries to update to 0.2.1 but I'm also getting a "script error". So I'm stuck. What to do? Please don't tell me to do a clean install on the SD and reconfigure Plex all over again :)

As already mentioned here: The updater is broken with 0.2.0. Please update manually: https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/wiki/Update

Hello,

I cannot play any videos at all on an old model B. I have tried different SD cards and I have purchased the codecs from raspberry pi and I cannot play anything, it either just hangs or says 'Playback failed. One or more items failed to play. Check the log file for details',

http://eels.wyrdweb.com/plexhometheater.log

I have tried connecting to the URLs in the logs in a browser and the videos play fine (in Windows 7).

Some of the 'Video Channel' apps do work though! It's just the videos from my Plex server.

Can anybody help?

Thanks!

The support for 256MB RAM devices is currently very limited. This is a known issue and we try to improve this in later releases.

I just installed rasplex on my raspberry pi today, and while playback etc is working like a charm, there is a problem with it;

It doesnt show me anything for TV-Shows except for 'On Deck', and 'On Deck' is always Episode 1 from Season 1. So I have to search for the show I want to see any episodes besides Episode 1 from. While it's possible to work around it, it's quite annoying as the Search function is quite.. slow. :)

Any clues as to what can cause this, or how I can fix it? (this issue is non-existant on Plex on Android, web-ui & the Windows Media Center app)

P.S:

As I'm new to Rasplex, I¨'m not certain if you have a bug reporting site or similar, can post there if this is the 'wrong' place for it o/

hi,

i'm just getting my feet wet with the rpi and rasplex. i have a couple of stupid question.

* what do the different options for turning 'off' rasplex do ? shut down closes rasplex (but leaves rpi on). what do sleep and hibernate do, how can rasplex wake up from these states ?

* how does one reboot the rpi. i assume from ssh; but what state should rasplex be in ?  if shut down, it no longer replies to ssh. is it ok to reboot with rasplex running ?

thanks for all your kind help.

Hi,

please try to search the forums - the answers are already out there most of the time…

Sleep states are not working on the RPi - it’s just on or off (The GUI for shutdown selection is just not adjusted to this at the moment). It’s possible to reboot the RPi via ssh. But you may shutdown and re-plug the RPi too.

does the SSH port still #22? on the new 0.2.1

This could be a PlexHT issue... Since you're a plexpass user: Have you tried the latest PlexHT for Mac too?

Please report some feedback if this issue is still present with the upcoming release of RasPlex (should be available within the next few days).

Haven't had time to get PlexHT to compile properly, so I haven't been able to test that.

As of 0.21 the issue is still present.

Edit: needed to leave it to boot longer than I had. False alarm :-)

is it possible to choose the quality of the movie (SD or HD) with rasplex?

Every movie with SD and HD rasplex only plays the SDfile -.-

Nobody who has got any clues as to this issue?

Hello, first thanks for RasPlex. I am having an issue where the menu hangs up when highlighting TV Shows. Actually it doesn't hightlight before it hangs. Pressing up from queue it will hang for about 15 seconds then it will highlight TV Shows. Same issue coming down from music. It also only shows Recently Added, no On Deck. Movie section has none of these issues. My only other issue so far is when going back to the main menu from any section, it hangs for around 60 seconds (ReFoucus skin takes even longer). I have tried reinstalling a couple times. Any ideas?

Player specs:

RPi 512 w/SanDisk 8gb Class 10 and 1amp power block. Running RasPlex 0,2,1

Server specs:

AMD Phenom II x4/8gb/Win 8/FlexRaid/PlexPass Plex Server 0.9.8.2

I'm experiencing the same issue with the gui becoming unresponsive when scrolling to TV Shows. It'll hang for up to 30 seconds before it will highlight them. It does work, but it becomes unresponsive  for some time.

happy to get some logging if it's not a known issue

Are you also having the issue when going back to the main screen? Its 45-50 seconds. Everything else seems to work great. What is your boot time McNasty?

Hi Guys,

I have just recently started using RasPlex, I have not tried OpenElec yet. But I was wondering about one thing. I have no mouse support (using the k400r), is that normal? Does RasPlex not support a mouse cursor? Also, I am trying to find a way to access the settings menu, so that I can change the stream quality. Currently I have no way to do so. If someone can show me I'd kindly appreciate it.

Cheers!
