RasPlex Support

Hi,

I have another resolution question: I'm currently stuck in some weird "windowed" mode. I attached the RPi (RasPlex 0.2.2) via composite to an old TV and went thru ->preferences->System->Video to refresh rate and accidentially changed it from 60 to "windowed".

Now my screen is totally messed up (missing about 50% of the right side) and whatever I do, I seem not able to change it back... Anybody any idea how to fix this?

The same happens when I try to change the resolution... it just gets stuck in some windowed mode...

Any help would be highly appreciated!!

I've had a similar problem, I did it by hitting the wrong key on my keyboard. Try hitting \ (backslash) its the toggle windowed mode shortcut. This list may help too.

Thanks a lot for this. I played around and push buttons and whatever could be pushed and got out of the mode myself. Not sure how I did it in the end but your solution is much better and efficient! :) THANKS!

i have rasplex up and running just fine...
but i wonder if there is any info where i can find out witch key on the keyboard activate a specific command..
for example "space"=PAUSE "L"=subtitles
and so on...
is there any helpfile or pdf for that ??
i want to find how to delete movie from client and some other functions..

At first - Thanks a lot Dale!

I installed Rasplex on my 512mb raspberry and connected it to my home network with gigabit-ethernet. The PMS is on my iMac, everything works fine.

Except i noticed that some of my high-bitrate MKVs don´t play well. They stop every 5seconds, the start playing again, stop again... and so on.

Every MKV with less than 15000kbit/s seems to play well, everything above not (i just did some test - so 15000kbit/s might not be the exact threshold).

So it seems my connection from the Raspi to my iMac seems to be max. 2Mbyte/s.

Is there any way to get this connection work on a faster speed?

Does anybody have similar problems?

I'm having some issues with RasPlex resuming paused movies. I don't have any issue resuming on Android, Windows or a Samsung TV client, but whenever I attempt to resume on Rasplex, I get the following in my Server log.

Also, I get a lot of those SLOW QUERY errors. Over and over every 30 seconds. Any thought about that? I have optimized the DB. Not sure what is happening there, but it doesn't see to affect the performance of the other clients.

Rasplex will also not FF.

Upgraded to 0.2.2 to see if that would resolve the problem, but is has not.

Thanks for any help.

Changed the logging to verbose and debug and now things look like this.....

hi guys i am new to rasplex, i am trying to open raspi-config to overclock but i get this:

login as: root

rasplex Version: 0.2.2

-sh: sudo: not found
RasPlex:~ #

i have tried every combination to no avail, always not found, any ideas?
thank you.

anybody here to help?

anybody here to help?

I'm pretty sure overclocking on rasplex is achieved through adjusting values in the config.txt file

thank you gb100, i saw rapi-config at the initial set up but now i cant get it back now, i even erase the SD card and installed again and still nothing.

besides, i dont just want to overclock.

Initial rasplex support post!

Can we get some link info in the first post please.  Or is the first test to use this product your knowlege of google?  :-)

Ignore me... I didn't see this had it's own forum.  Sigh...

Hi, I've just found PLEX (woop) and I have the server on my Win7 PC, and a client on Samsung TV working fine. I tried 0.2.2 (and 0.2.1) of rasplex and whilst the UI is there, and my library is there, it will not play any movies or audio. When I play a movie I started watching on my samsung, the rasplex correctly asks if I wish to continue from a time or at the start so it seems all communication is there but when I press play, it's as if I never pressed anything. When I try to play music a message briefly flashes up for a few times like it's re-trying.

I can post logs etc - just ask - but wondered if I'm just missing something.

This is probably related to limited codec support on the RPi. The RPi is only able to play h264 encoded video and AAC audio (AC-3 paththrough is possible as well). It's possible to add some more formats (MPEG2, VC-1) by purchasing a license (http://www.raspberrypi.com/license-keys/) and add the code to your RPi (search the forum/web on how to do this).

But your PMS should convert media on-the-fly for your RasPlex if it's capable enough. You may want to try to force transcoding too (go to settings -> network).

Interested in testing version 0.3.0 but can't get the newest 0.3.0 release via the releases list of the installer (doesn't appear in the list).

Can't find the direct link to the download either http://sourceforge.net/projects/rasplex/files/release/

Found the .tar for it but unsure how to create and .img file for it, please help.

Sorry - it seems I've mixed some release files and accidentally deleted the image file…
It should be available again now. (http://sourceforge.net/projects/rasplex/files/release/rasplex-0.3.0.img.gz)

Just a quick info for all waiting for 0.3.1: The release will be delayed until Friday. Sorry...

The aim is to get an updated version of the rasplex-updater into 0.3.1 too (this will allow to update to future bleeding releases again).

Thanks for this - I get further now - when I select a film it says "please wait" (the option was force transcoding on local network). Still nothing after that. Plus the music channels shows my iTunes library but just keeps popping up "please wait" until it reboots so I guess that's no codec issue - no point in buying codecs if this doesn't work. I have the plex log for trying to play a track from my iTunes library but the log is pretty big - seems to try & play/get info for the whole directory - a snippet is:

Cheers for uploading it!

Can't upgrade from 0.2.2 to 0.3.1 because the upgrade.py says there was no space left. That's a bummer. Can somebody help me out here? Turning it off and on again didn't help ;) Thanks a lot!
