Recreate library after delete. Click Add library folders, does not see subfolders

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: N/A

I needed to delete a shared folder on my Synology that did not have “advanced data integrity” enabled. This can only be enabled at the time of shared folder creation. I shutdown the Plex server so it wouldn’t freak out. Deleted the shared folder, then recreated and restored the files from my backup server. Then started the Plex server again.

When I recreated the library in Plex, it could see the shared folder, but none of the subfolders where all the media is stored. I’ve made sure the Plex user does have read/write permissions.

Something is preventing the Plex server from seeing subfolders. Any ideas?

By the way, found this topic: Synology - Cannot see any folders in share when adding media library - #4 by ChuckPa

File Station shows Plex user already has read/write in the folders/subfolders in question.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

DSM 6 or DSM 7?

If DSM 7, the system internal user PlexMediaServer must have access.

See FAQ 29 - DSM 7 - Give PlexMediaServer access to your media.

You’re my hero! That was it. PlexMediaServer wasn’t even listed in File Station.

Thanks so much! And Happy New Year!

Matt
