I have a show (InuYasha) and seasons 4-7 are numbered correctly in their filenames, but the Plex Agent is grabbing the wrong metadata for them
Names are in this format:
InuYasha - SXXEXX - EpisodeName.mkv
S4E01 is still Episode 1 but given the metadata for E02, E02 given metadata for E03, etc
And S07 is treated like InuYasha: The Final Act, which is actually a different show entirely.
TVDB is correct, as is IMDB which matches. Without manually renaming everything, how can I fix this? I also donât want to manually edit the thumbnails.
Forget the numbering on IMDB or Wikipedia etc. Plex doesnât use them.
Compare the existing numbering schemes of TheMovieDB.org and TheTVDB.com with your files.
Now edit the show at its highest level, go to the Advanced tab, and set âEpisode Orderingâ to whichever suits your files.
If your files donât fit to any of the orderings on offer, rename your files.
On a whim I switched it from Aired to DVDâthey are both the same episode order in TVDBâand that fixed the metadata/orderâ:man_facepalming: Changing it back to Aired breaks it again. Not sure why plex is pulling incorrect data from TVDB but oh well. And Thanks for the plex dance link, that is useful info to have!
