On a whim I switched it from Aired to DVD–they are both the same episode order in TVDB–and that fixed the metadata/order:man_facepalming:
Changing it back to Aired breaks it again. Not sure why plex is pulling incorrect data from TVDB but oh well. And Thanks for the plex dance link, that is useful info to have!
