[RELEASE] OpenPHT 1.7.1

_“FYI, playing via web browser isn’t going to be an apples-apples test of graphics capability as running it as an htpc.”
_

I understand that. It did give me some indication whether or not it was related to the player itself (which runs on the same system), the network or perhaps even some hardware related problem on my system alone.

Sadly, as it now stands, this version of OpenPHT is pretty unusable with stuttering (or rather, more like glitchy/jerky with lost frames) even on files that I watched and paused without problems before. The setting suggestions of lukecro sadly didn’t have any effect in my situation.

It also, almost without fault, crashes the first time I launch it. Sometimes it takes the IR with it, which can’t be resolved without a complete reboot and, fingers crossed, a relaunch hoping it doesn’t crash without taking down the IR controls with it again.

I did a quick test with the latest version of regular PMP and it doesn’t exhibit the choppy playback - though weirdly enough the audio was a tad out of sync.

I wish I could drop a version, but I lose all menu items (the Aeon skin I’m guessing).

Which version of Aeon Nox are you on? If you need to roll back OpenPHT to an earlier version, you can also roll back Aeon Nox manually using one of the versions here: https://github.com/magnumdoomguy/skin.aeon.nox.5/releases

Hi, to everyone

i want to use openpht on my Odroid C2 [ubuntu 16.04] but i only find the whole thing with librelec ?
i tested it and it works flawlessly but i want to keep my Buntu :slight_smile:

is there a way to download the source and build them directly ?
or download any package to achieve this

i definitively don’t want librElec.

Thanks

HI Guys,

I’m hoping someone can assist me. I’m running OpenPHT on my Odroid C2. It was running flawlessly on 1.6.2. I just upgraded to 1.7.1 by putting the file in the .update folder and rebooted my C2. Everything seemed ok at first glance but now any video file i play, my image is distorted. Anyone else ran into this issue after upgrading to 1.7.1? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi,

i’ve tried a few day ago OpenPHT on my odroid C2 with the 4K Ambilight Poject from 'odroid magazine november 16"

i’ve added the hyperion config file
had to change

// DEVICE CONFIGURATION
"device" :
{
	"name"       : "odroidc2",

---------> “type” : “odlight”,
“output” : “/dev/ttyACM0”,
“rate” : 1000000,
“delayAfterConnect” : 0,
“colorOrder” : “rgb”
},

to this —> “type” : “ws2801”,

// DEVICE CONFIGURATION
"device" :
{
	"name"       : "MyHyperionConfig",
	"type"       : "ws2801",
	"output"     : "/dev/spidev0.0",
	"rate"     : 1000000,
	"colorOrder" : "rgb"
},

or Hyperion don’t want to start, but even with that no led activities
it worked find under my Buntu before

could anyone succeded in using ambilight with OpenPht

hope to read some good news :slight_smile:

Because of the problems with OpenPHT I’m experiencing I gave PMP a serious try but holy mother, even after all this time I was annoyed with so many weird choices. Can’t get it to open on my second monitor without dragging it over and they broken the volume controls for ‘reasons’.

I have now switched to playing with my lowly Chromecast. Its playback is smooth but I would like to use OpenPHT with the Aeon skin. At least I have options.

PMP. ■■■■. LOL

hi …can you make sync with this version ?

No, sync is only available on official Plex Mobile clients at this time.

Maybe I’m missing it, but is there a way to view a playlist for a shared server? Going under Shared Content i can only see TV Shows and Movies, but not the playlist I created. Thank you in advance.

I dont see any option in PMS to share a playlist to other users…

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. My friend shared his plex library with me. On the plex website I selected his server from the dropdown and created a playlist of my own for a few things he has (I also made one under my own server). However, in OpenPHT I can see the playlist for my own server, but if I go to his media under Shared Content I don’t see any way to access the playlist I made for his media. Hopefully that clears things up and isn’t more confusing.

I have a problem with “color range option”. I’ve set my graphic card driver to 0-255 and TV to 16-235, but when I mark 16-235 in OpenPHT the image is too dark and blacks look crashed. With these same settings the image looks perfect in Plex Media Player and in Kodi, so I think the problem is in OpenPHT.

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks.

I had a similar problem when I upgraded my Odroid to 1.7.1. The video playback would sometimes distort across the screen & the skin I was using Aeon Nox was stuck at the wrong resolution (1080 - it was only in the top left corner of the screen)

I rolled back to the previous version & I was going to try reflashing my sd card before reporting it here. I still haven’t got round to reflashing the sd card.

I have the resolution of my Odroid set to 3840x2160 I’ve noticed all my display problems on the Odroid seem to occur in this resolution. I’m not sure if any of the OpenPHT devs test this device at this res but something consistently weird is going on.

are you sure it doesnt just appear under normal playlists in that case? i.e dont look in shared content for it, just check in your normal playlists menu in openpht?

so only Aeon Nox had the issue? no issue with the default skin?

See, this is why I was going to wait before reporting it. When I tried 1.7.1 & noticed the issue I didn’t have time to test it properly & see if the issues were consistent with the default skin. As soon as this happened I just went straight back to the previous version.

Hopefully I’ll get a chance to test further over this weekend & I’ll let you know what happens.

I had though the same thing but that only shows me the playlist for my personal server. It’s not the end of the world, I can just go through the plex app on my phone and throw it over to OpenPHT, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something obvious. Thanks for helping out.
