The only way to understand why is to get logs as requested in my other posts and details of the setup - is it automatic port mapping. Is it manual port setup plus a port forward.
Still down for me
what is down? I was able to reach your server with the info plex.tv has for your server for remote access. Of course, I got challenged for login.
What issue do you have?
Actually, after I made this post, I checked the āmanually specify portā option, which was still default of 32400, and it worked. I unchecked it, and it still works.
Weird, but maybe that caused it to rescan or something?
How did you establish that it still worked? If it is from plex apps then that could be because they used cached information to your server and since the port forward is in place in the router, they would reach your server. if you kill the plex client app and relaunch it, you may find it would not find the server
Make sure you do have the manually specify port ticked - disable and re-enable remote access. Kill any active mobile plex apps and relaunch them - that would force a refresh of the info from plex.tv
Hi,
Itās Virtual Server in the router, Manual port setup. It was working well over for about a year, nothing changed on my side, the flapping just started in the past weeks. Can I PM my logs to you as I wouldnāt publish it here as it contains some sensitive info like login name, ports, IP addressesā¦etc
Send the zipped logs by PM
Having same issue. Port is open and Plex says remote access is good to go, yet nothing works. Very frustrating.
if you have a problem please provide diagnostics so it can be investigated,
Run with debug logging enabled on the server
See https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/
Restart the server to start a new set of log files
Open the Server Setting Remote Access page.
Do an F5 Browser refresh
See what public port it says it is using and test that on web site http://canyouseeme.org
If it fails, check that port forward still exists in router (if using one with manually selected port ticked and port entered)
If problems persist, collect logs
See https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/
Same here. Itās like every Friday that this happens. Every single week there is some wide issue w/ Plex.
Having a similar problem on Windows 10 server in the UK. Remote access is saying fully accessible outside but none of my devices will connect to the server. Iāve enclosed logs. This happened to me a couple of weeks ago and had a blackout for almost a day then it suddenly started working again, this instability is getting pretty annoying.
I have the same Issue as well. I have two servers in two different locations on different networks and they both started losing and regaining remote access yesterday. Sometimes red, sometimes green. Neither are behind FWās, direct public IPās. A remote port checker shows port 32400 is open on both servers when remote access is failing.Iāll gather the logs when I get home and paste them here. This is unlike the Internal IP address problem with Plex web a few weeks ago.
My remote access has also stopped working. canyouseemore.org with my ip/port says that itās open.
guys im having the same problem you can connect to the server if you connect direct connect through browser with the ip/port and it works fine! incoming and outgoing.
but it seems theres a problem with the plex server software and im hoping someone will confirm this and fix this asap
Here my logs:
Plex Media Server Logs_2018-10-26_16-29-33.zip (1.9 MB)
Canyouseeme.org says everything is ok. The Plex remote access page says Iām fully accessible. But all my remote clients canāt connect.
ok mines started working now with my clients connecting as we speak
Based on @lewisblakely comment, I can access my plex server via http://<remote-ip>:<port> but I cantā access it via plex.tv. Something is going on on Plexās end.
guys if you wanna check that your ports and ips ect are working and talking correct. go onto a browser and input your public ip address and port from your plex server. this will direct you into your server to prove that its all working correctly and its a problem with the plex software
sorry if my explanations ant great
Using Windows 10 myself. I can confirm, having an issue with connecting to a remote server when going through http://plex.tv. I can access and connect to the remote server when connecting directly to the IP of the server.
Talking with the Devās now about it.
