Remote Access Suddenly Not Working

Tengo el mismo problema hace 1 semana, los puertos remotos no me los coge con my cloud home y no puedo reproducir contenido.

This just started happening to me recently too. I’m looking for a resolution here.

Hi everyone, my PMS was working fine and then all of a sudden on 7/2/21 no devices were able to connect to the Plex server. It looks like disabling the secure connection worked for the time being but only on some devices, it does not work for plex.tv site. Please help, thank you.

Try this

To go to your Plex [account profile], choose to change your password, and check the Sign out connected devices after password change option when entering the new password.

This will invalidate all of your tokens and, as the setting name states, sign all of your apps (and any Plex Media Servers) out of your account. When you then sign back in, you’ll re-authenticate and get a new token.

this is happening to me to now, I didnt make a single change, I just left home went to try to check, and cannot connect outside my network. some people can. its being weird.

This worked for me!!

Hi there my two WD cloud home 8TB and 4TB stopped working on android devices!! only work in my apple tablet, nothing else!! don’t know what to do!

I am suddenly experiencing this problem as well. The services worked normally yesterday, but this morning they don’t.

I host other services on my domain, and those services are accessible on my FQDN via the public internet (mail, web, ftp, etc.) I’ve made no changes to my server configuration (linux 1.19.3.2764), my router configuration, my home network devices, or any settings on my clients.

To troubleshoot this issue:

Prior to re-claiming, I was actually able to access the unclaimed plex server via the nearby connection in my roku client app. After claiming the server, playback immediately stopped and server resources were no longer available to me.

Relevant client log snippet appears below and seems to point the finger at a security certificate issue - this was when I tested the connection to the server:
plex_roku_log.txt (10.8 KB)

Logging in via local ip, I get the same symptom (not remotely accessible) - and when inspecting the certificate being supplied, I see valid dates that start today - to me that seems to indicate a new server certificate has been installed today on DNS Name= .9188435c2a064285afa6b42ec828fa6e.plex.direct*:

What do I need to do to re-enable remote access and restore normal service?

In my case, it seems access has been restored after I disabled ipv6 support then upgraded (and subsequently restarted) the server to 1.24.3.5033.

I did notice that plex is binding to [::]:32400 only (but not the ipv4 0.0.0.0 address) - is there a way to specify that plex should bind to more than one ip on the server when ipv6 enable is checked?

Why Plex won’t find a solution for this ??? :rage:

Same Here
Unable to play remotely now. Tried everything the support site suggested.any ideas?

Mine as well
Unable to play movie outside the server’s network!
But Plexamp for music works fine.

The issue with certificates for the old versions of Plex Media Server affecting remote access - as in the case for the Western Digital Android OS NAS running on PMS 1.18.6.2350-143d2e66b, should be resolved now by getting a new certificate issued.

If you are running with secure connections disabled, then re-enabling it should get a new certificate

If you are running with Secure Connections enabled and you are still running with the incompatible certificate, then I could get that old certificate revoked and a new one issued

You could also get it replaced by disabling secure connections and then restarting the server and then enabling secure connections again and restarting the server. A new certificate should be issued

Hi - These options did not work for me. I’m at a bit of a loss on this. Any other thoughts?
Thanks.

The same.Nothing is working on me. Plex once again suddenly dont work. Please , find a solution, cause we are out of patience…

You guys try changing the port to something else, like 40000 then changing it back to the default port?

That seems to have done the trick for me, not sure why though.

It is possible the server got given the old certificate again

I have just revoked that certificate.

Could you now try again

  • First make sure debug logging is enabled in General / Advanced Server Settings
  • Restart the server to get fresh server logs created
  • Enable Secure Connections
  • Check out Remote Access functionality

If you still have problems please get me the server logs and what happened

Thanks

I had the same issue, my server was unavailable to some TV’s but not all. I found out that some TV’s software will not support some apps anymore including PLEX. I had to go out and buy a chromecast with Google TV to bypass the TV and now it’s working great! Hope this helps!

@cwandep did you see my post above Remote Access Suddenly Not Working - #38 by sa2000

I have revoked the old certificate so I expect the server to get a new certificate when you re-enable secure connections

Please see my post above

Having the same issue where my remote access was working for months and now I can’t get it to work at all. Tried everything in this thread as well as fresh installing plex and nothing.

I just updated my motherboard and ram and cpu as well but I don’t know how that would cause a network issue.
