Yes! Me too!!
what is considered android playback? Just android phones? My server is doing this but I watch on my tv via streaming stick.
most devices linked are firesticks or android boxes.
Thanks for the logs -it appears that the Plex Media Server process ran out of memory.
For the crash covered by these logs, the issue started at about 16:28
Feb 08, 2021 16:28:26.660 [14100] ERROR - Format [JPEG] - Insufficient memory (case 4)
Feb 08, 2021 16:29:40.565 [15536] ERROR - Caught exception trying to stream file: E:\plex\Plex Media Server\Cache\Transcode\Sessions\plex-transcode-16b2e99ea0c6f5ef-com-plexapp-android-8e263f77-6fa0-42ec-8994-2a5ca8245ce7\media-00400.ts: bad allocation
Feb 08, 2021 16:29:40.585 [16156] ERROR - Thread: Uncaught exception running async task which was spawned by thread 15000: bad allocation
Did these crashes start after an update to Plex Media Server ? Could you confirm this by going back to the earlier version and see if the crashes stop
Could you enable memory usage logging and also increase the number of logs
See advanced settings Advanced, Hidden Server Settings | Plex Support
The two specific settings are
LogNumFiles (Type: Reg_DWord) set it to 10
LogMemoryUse (Type: Reg_Dword) set it to 1
Suggest setting LogNumFiles to 10 and enabling LogMemoryUse by setting it to 1
Please restart the server and get me logs zip on next occurrence
You can also periodically check the memory used by the process and see if it gets close to 2Gb = if it is close to 2Gb you can capture the logs then before the server crashes out
Please let me know what version you updated from before the crashes started. See if they stop when downgrading to the older version - please let me know
I have looked at 3 sets of logs from users and they appear different. For your crashes I am waiting to get a zipped copy of your Plex Media Server database - being progressed here Plex Keeps Crashing - #27 by sa2000
The logs here - captured on 7th Feb at 21:12 show a different issue from the crashes seen in other logs. The logs show a deadlock locking out requests to the server from about 20:37. There are specific diagnostics needed for deadlocks. I suggest we see if they continue after resolving the crashes - being progressed here Plex Keeps Crashing - #27 by sa2000
Deadlock diagnostics would include getting list of connections, forcing a process dump and getting the logs - best to defer that until the other repeating issue (crashes) is resolved.
Apologies for delay in responding and noticing your post
Looking at the uploaded logs, i suspect the crashes are covered by this forum post
There is a later consolidated summary in another thread which i will paste here. Consolidating all info relating to crashes and hardware acceleration Following the test of new Intel driver by @Geran and previous feedback from @d0cx, we now have a conclusion to these crashes. So to summarize the fixes for Plex Media Server crashes when hardware acceleration is in use Intel Graphics Adapter Driver bug - leading to crash of the Plex Media Server process in module igdumdim32.dll This is now fâŠ
So it would be either bullet 1 or bullet 3 in my post
For intel versions - the table is old so current version numbers would be different - but it is an area to look into
Anyone else getting crashes, please run with debug logging enabled on the server, restart the server and collect the logs after restart following a crash

Plex Media Sever is crashing on me as well. Seems to happen after an hour or two of watching Live TV. Also note that crashes have occurred when Android clients (NVidia Shield and Android Phone) ware also playing Live TV.
Attached logs. Let me know if there is anything else I can provide to help. Plex Media Server Logs_2021-02-09_17-22-01.zip (6.7 MB)
Hi everyone, Iâm getting crashes as well. I havenât reverted back to a previous build like everyoneâs recommended just yet. I just updated to 1.21.3.4021 and will see if it crashes. Iâve attached my logs to see if it helps.
This answer is garbage. I know it isnât the intel driver as I have the latest driver available and I am running my plex server with a monitor attached. Plex is not running as a service or a scheduled task. This did not start happening until AFTER build 3711. A rollback to 3711 has kept my server stable and has not crashed the executable once. We should not have to be supplying log file after log file. We have figured out, on our own, that it is something that changed after build 3711.
Roll back to 3711. The support admins will tell you that itâs your intel driver or that youâre running headlessâŠwhich isnât the case. They fouled up the code on every version after 3711 and thatâs where the issue lies.
I have had my server running 3711 for almost 10 days now without an issue.
Youâre brave! Taking one for the team!

According to the admin that checked your logs, youâre having a memory issueâŠ
