Thanks for the logs @Swiftserver with the memory usage logging for the 12th Feb.

The server is running out of memory. There may be a new memory leak. When we reach 2Gb (max for windows 32-bit app) the server crashes

I am referring this to the development team to see what further diagnostics can be made available to track where this is happening

I’ve got the same issue and ive tried to upgrade and downgrade the server but it keeps crashing every 20-30 mins.

Host OS: Windows 10 Home (64-Bit)
Server Version#: 1.21.3.4046
Player Version#: 4.51.1 (Web)

I have been up and down the forums with what to do on a crash occuring every 20-30 minutes and downgrading upgrading, restarting, and checking .dll’s and nothing is helping or changing anything about what plex keeps doing.

Im not sure what changed or why it is behaving this way but im damn close to a reinstall of windows to start over fresh.

The rollback to 3711 has solved a lot of our issues. You may be having different issues. Since i rolled back to 3711 it hasn’t crashed since.

Also i noticed since then, they haven’t acknowledged an issue that is causing the crashes, to actually be related to android based clients

Have you looked at any of the other logs of the crashes after 3711? Since many of us have rolled back to 3711 we haven’t had crashes. So it’s NOT an issue with our installs or our machines, it’s a problem with the application.

Since you upgraded to the latest client, are you getting the crashes again?

Yea, I still got crashes on the latest one. I ended up rolling back to 3711 as well. Hasn’t crashed since.

I’m still running on 3939 and have had one crash while doing so. PMS was completely unresponsive, but still resident in memory (usually it disappears from memory when it crashes).

I have reduced the size of my database (down from 6.5GB to 650MB) as asked by Plex Support.
I am away from home for the next 5 days, so will leave PMS running on v1.21.2.3939 until I get back.

Plan is then, to upgrade to latest Beta version.

I also have Plex crashing with the latest version
So, I went back to v 3943, which is slightly less crashy, but still to crashy imho.

Where can I download Release 1.21.0.3711 ?
Anyone with a link drop me a hint or send me a DM please.

TY

PS: Running Plexserver on Windows 10 and have crashes when a Android TV is connected.

I used the files in the ā€˜Upgrades’ folder on my PMS to install the older version.

Having the same problem here, it’s randomly …

here’s the log filesPlex Media Server Logs_2021-02-28_08-27-49.zip (6.4 MB)

happen at 8:23AM 28 feb

The update didn’t work for me either.

I saw on another thread that someone found a fix: uninstalled and then reinstalled the client application from the android devices (in my case a amazon fire tv) - I tried this and the server crashes have now stopped.

I try it yes its fix a lot of crash but not all the crashes…

I’m having these crashes up to 20 times a day as well. They seem to occur when watching TV series and plex is automatically playing the next episode. Plex is completely unusable.

Hi - I do not see a crash

Server was running up to Feb 28 08:21:34 with one Direct Play streaming in progress for a remote user (Claudine xxxxxxx) on a Roku. Last indication that playback was active was at 08:21:27 - these get sent every 10 seconds

Then server was restarted and logging started at 08:22:36
There is no evidence of any hung requests
Connection to the remote roku dropped at 08:23:41 and the server was manually shutdown / exited at 08:23:51

Was it shutdown because of a hang / not able to access the server ?

Please look in this directory
N:\Plex Media Server\Crash Reports\1.22.0.4105-de660d402\PLEX MEDIA SERVER and if you find any crash reports, please zip and send me the zip

Are you still an old version ? With the database table adjustments those crashes should no longer occur - could you upgrade to the current version and let me know if there are any issues still - current version on https://plex.tv/downloads is 1.21.4.4079-1b7748a7b

Is Plex Media Server still crashing ?
Have you updated to version 1.21.4.4079-1b7748a7b (see https://plex.tv/downloads)

Why have you only included one log file for Plex Media Server in your zip - there should be 6 by default
Plex Media Server.1.log to Plex Media Server.5.log and Plex Media Server.log

Please update to the current version and if you are still getting crashing get all the log files zipped or downloaded after restart through Plex Web as per https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/ and look for crash dmp files in directory

D:\Plex\AppData\Plex Media Server\Crash Reports\1.21.4.4079-1b7748a7b\Plex Media Server and zip and attach

Thanks
