I am trying to access a server on my LG tv that was working earlier today but it’s now saying content unavailable.
What is odd is I’m still able to access the server through the Plex app on my iPhone.
I have tried logging out, deleting the app and even unplugging the tv but cannot seem to get the server back. Any suggestions would be great.
I have the same problem but with me AppleTV. On my phone berthing works perfectly, but in my Apple TV give that server is offline
I also have this issue…Worked fine last night…Today under Media Server Status on my LG OLED65B6P it says “The server is offline or unreachable.”
I have no issue reaching it from my phone or laptop.
I have logged out of everything, logged into the server then the app…Not reachable…
Deleted the app from the TV, logged out of everything and back into the server, reinstalled the app…Not reachable…
No VPN and all software up to date…
Edit: Software Version is 5.60.25…So this LG TV should not be affected by the phasing out of < version 5.0…
Some actual help here would be greatly appreciated…
same issue for me…
I have an LG as well and I am having the same issue.
Same issue with my LG TV connecting to remote Plex. The server is unavailable.
It works from a remote Samsung TV, local Samsung TV, from remote browser and through Andorid Plex App on phone over 4G.
This must be a LG-issue? Maybe related to the newly released Plex-App on the TV?
Same here, the app on iPad updated last night also the app on android updated on 23rd Sept both apps no longer allow play back from MyCloud server so unable to play any of my personal content
I’m experiencing the same issue with my LG65E8PTA. Can access on all of my other devices, am streaming remotely to external users.
guys, look this thread.
Yeah, but if you have still a supported TV still does not work.
I have just checked and mine is running webOS 05.10.30 so should be one of the LG’s that still work but it’s still not connecting
Update - just found out webOS is different to software version so I’m running 4.9.3 tv version.
Not sure how these differ
Got exactly the same issue. Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Plex, please fix this…
Mine is 5.60.25 and IS affected, so something else is going on…
Same issue here!
We so 3.9
LG tv
Latest version of the player app
Says unavailable it works fine on iPad and Apple TV !
This is exactly the problem. My LG C9 which has “platform version” 4.9.0 doesn’t work while my LG CX which has “platform version” 5.2.3 does work.
I fixed this on the C9 by setting the “Allow Insecure Connections” to “Always” and the “Prefer Insecure Connections” to “Always”.
Same issue here
Made a thread about it
Not been able to use plex on LG tv for 3 days now
Call your LG support and tell them their Letsencrypt root certificated expired.
My problem was solve with a update to the Plex server…
After looking high and low, with the same problem.
My plex was working fine on my tv (LG - 65UM7450PLA) a few days ago, then all of a sudden it was saying my server is unreachable or offline, yet its not, it works fine on my laptop and mobile.
Its daft if the claim is true that some tvs no longer support the app, that it would prevent the app from working when nothing has been changed.
Ive sat for days trying to get my head around this, ive even deleted the app off my server and re installed it, every time same result, works on everything else but my tv app.
Itll take me to the plex.tv/link screen, enter the code via my laptop and activates the app, but wont show me my files on my server.
thats going to be a right pain in the @$$ if it means certain smart tvs no longer work with plex.
EDIT
saying that, ive just noticed while plex is displaying my content, some will play on my phone but not my laptop.
wonder if the new plex server app needs rolling back?
EDIT 2
I now have it working on my LGTV (65UM7450PLA).
Daft as I never had to set this, so maybe if Plex roll this back so we dont need to do it (or maybe a pinned topic on the forum for smart tv users).
using the web portal under network set secured connection to preferred then scroll down and in the custom server access urls i entered the plex ip address found under remote access.
then in the lgtv app
settings, manual servers and added the plex ip address and port for connection 1
advanced allow insecure connections and prefer insecure connections set both to always and log to media sever disabled, logging level debug.
thats my current config and the lgtv app is now back up and running.
i still cant figure why one movie so far ive seen wont play on my laptop web platform, yet plays on my tv app and mobile.
all i get is the spinning circle.
but touch wood, the above should work for other lgtv users.
