I followed the instructions provided in MovieFan.Plex’s post here
This log starts at 7:49 am. Is that before or after you woke it up? I need the log from before you woke it up.
I believe my Plex data folder is using internal memory on my Shield TV 2017. Happy to share logs - the most recent is from Jan 13. LMK!
i can see plex server on the sheld, but its offline ? no internet connection, but the sheld is online
Is your external drive formatted FAT32?
Based on comments from Movie Fan, it’s only exFAT and NTFS that has issues.
He’s using adopted storage so he would not have this issue.
I have no Access from my Plex Account on PC to my Shield. There must be a big ussue with PMS.
Still no luck here, even after HotfixN°2 and sideloading plex apk.
Setup is
USB key as adopted internal storage, PMS data internal, Media on a NAS mounted on shield (still accessible via Kodi).
Plex log reads :
Plex Media Server.log (1.7 KB)
Hi, sorry lots of messages in this thread so apologies if already mentioned. I signed up for beta access over 24 hours ago using the instructions on the website but as yet my Shield is still not showing any updates available. Is there something I’m missing or can try?
That log indicates your Plex database is corrupted. You can’t get to the database if it’s on internal storage. Unfortunately, you’re going to need to clear the PMS data and start from scratch. If you have database backups, you may be able to restore one of these after you setup your libraries to put back any customizations and collections. If you had provided your own posters, you’ll need to redo those.
The PMS you need is not available from the Play Store. Either use Hotfix 1 and the provided APK from my “solution” post or install Hotfix 2 which automatically includes that.
I’m on hotfix 1 still with a ‘working’ PMS on the 5th Jan play store version. The whole Shield is buggy as hell and I’m having to reboot regularly. I’m seeing as many people saying hotfix 2 has improved things as I am seeing them say it’s made things worse.
I have adopted internal storage for PMS. I’m also experiencing the problem where I lose access to SMB shares after moving anything through Windows.
Do I install hotfix 2 or skip it for now? Will there come a point where I have to install it?
it’s a joke! even the new Nvidia patch 02 does not work with external SSD in USB
I redid everything nothing works the shield hangs randomly…
Well, i tried clearing plex and PMS and starting with a new server. Doesn’t work. I managed to set up a new server (very buggy though), but everytime i restart the Shield it goes back to the first launch screen.
Log :
Plex Media Server.log (1.9 MB)
You do not need the hotfix or the update from PMS in this scenario. You will need hotfix 2 or an official firmware if they release that first at some point for future PMS updates. We’ll indicate when in the release notes for PMS.
What doesn’t work? Sounds like PMS is running. We are looking into the issue with PMS becoming non-responsive/crashing/freezing.
it works for a while then everything crashes
force to disconnect and reconnect the electricity to restart the shield and wait a long time before PMS restarts

@Klmmc What client are you trying to access your server from? Your logs show 2 clients trying to access it using old security information. You likely need to reload the client to update the information on the new server. If it’s Web, that could be cached and not being updated in the browser. Sign out and back in.
Edit - Also, are you sure this is a new setup? It shows it refresh an existing libraries, not creating new ones.
PMS is running on shield but library scan just stopped and crashed randomly
Is there really no ETA on an official update that fixes this? It’s been 9 days since Plex has become aware of the issue.
