Being aware of an issue and identifying the issue are 2 different things. Our priority has been just getting PMS running. That looks to be mostly resolved now.
yes i think it s ok for PMS on shield
but library scan just stopped and crashed randomly (I use the web application on PC)
i try again to continue scan library but all freeze (shield and app plex on PC) so i can t verified if PMS always running on shield

A new SHIELD hotfix that resolves a number of issues using external storage with Plex Media Server is now available.

As this is a hotfix, please be aware that they are not certified builds as such Disney+ will not be available from the Google Play Store and HD Homerun DRM channels might be unavailable, see the caveats on the hotfix sign up page for more information.
This is already included with Hotfix #2, correct?
EDIT: Hmm… this appears to be a newer version than previously shared.
This is 1.25.3.5448.
The previous sideload APK was 1.25.3.5410 (which is also the version I still had installed after taking Hotfix #2).

Could you clarify which version of PMS is included with Hotfix #2, please? 1.25.3.5410 or 1.25.3.5448? What improvements does 1.25.3.5448 have over the previous version?

Be interesting to know what the changes are between these two builds and why, if the hotfix includes the earlier version, why the latest version wasn’t included in the hotfix
I finally did a factory reset and managed to get it working i think. I had to remove completely my usb flash card that was set up as adopted storage. As long as it was plugged in, i couldn’t set up a new server. I can’t access plex files to back up my database though.
(HW transcoding still doesn’t work btw)
sorry but it remains blocked on PMS permissions (impossible to validate YES to lauch PMS)
I tried factory restore + hotfix 2 + 1.25.3.5448-f11334058-4132 : but same problem
I noted that if you actually run the PMS APK, in addition to the button to launch the Plex client, there’s a new “Setup Permissions” button to grant permission to manage all files. Clicking the button just popped up a modal window with OK/Cancel buttons, asking if you wanted to grant the permissions. I’m not totally sure if this is supposed to represent the same file permissions setting we were all manually granting in the past or not.

Yes, yesterday.
Pms worked for a few hours despite some plex crashes during synchronization. And at last freeze, it didn’t restart and disappeared.
After applying Hotfix #2, the log entry shows Plex Media Server v1.25.3.5410-f11334058
It would be good to find out what’s changed in the 1.25.3.5448 version before installing it.

So I just installed the 2.0 Hotfix, I haven’t deleted any data, just cleared caches on both PMS and Plex app, PMS tab in the Plex app options is still blank, no options just Plex Media Server title.
Not my impression.
This fixes the problem temporarily and then it comes back.
.5448 has a new permission setup wizard, that requests permission for full storage access if it’s not available. This can be accessed by launching the Plex Media Server app from the Android launcher, or via the usual setup wizard in the Plex client. Previous versions worked around the permission issue by using an older Android API which worked, but couldn’t be deployed to Google Play. This release will make it into Google Play.
Included the wrong APK, should of been (updated previous post);
APK no longer needed.
We are still investigating issues where PMS goes offline and missing hardware acceleration support when transcoding.

I just uninstalled everything and installed this new version. It is impossible for me to give access to the storage. The shield asks me Setup permission: I click continue.
Next Allow access to manage all files, I click yes. And it asks me again for setup permission etc… It becomes painful.
