Some Albums do not let their Artist be renamed, won't sync

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4523 (linux – Ubuntu)
Player Version#: 1.33.0.2444-a220eae4 (Windows)

I’ve been trying different things to fix this. Changed the order of Agents from my Windows player (I’m presuming this affects changes to the server behaviour), I’ve renamed the files IN Plex player, I’ve refreshed all metadata in the library, I’ve verified the File attributes from Windows 10 (the files are stored on a exFAT volume hooked up to a Ubuntu LTS install), but absolutely nothing works. Only thing I haven’t tried is deleting and re-inserting the files.
I want to be able to find these files by just typing in the artist’s name: U2… instead of “Various Artists”, which is not correct.
BTW all files have been renamed correctly at file level and have metadata embedded with Picard from Musicbrainz. Everything is correct.

What am I doing wrong?

OKAAYYYYYY… so I deleted the files and recopied them to the folder. and it WORKED.
Someone explain this to me.

You probably did not refresh the metadata stored in PLEX (plex dance) and so none of your changes were apparent
