Thanks! Working now.

It works now, thanks!

@ChuckPa Hello, I’m having the same issue again. Remote access worked for 4 days after you reset the cert but now again it has stopped. I don’t know if it’s the same issue or something new. Please help me with this again. Thank you!

Hello @ChuckPa I’m sure you’re tracking this on many vectors, there’s some Mac Server users reporting similar issues.

Secure access is not working on my server either.

Appreciate your help.

@str3ss

Please have them come to me, here.
I am bouncing all over the place as it is,

@ChuckPa I am not 100% certain my issue is the same as everyone else’s here. I am running PMS via WD MyCloud Home. I can view shows at home via app on our FireStick however my daughter in another location is no longer able to view of the shared videos on our WD MyCloud Home drive. It had been working fine up until Sunday. I just now tried as well via my laptop at my office and the circle just goes around and around. She has been playing Shared TV shows from her iphone with a cable to her TV. No issues until Sunday. Her error message was something about a server issue. I am not getting any error when trying via my laptop but the TV show I am trying to watch will not start. The dashboard shows it is playing but it never starts actually playing. Just the circle going around and around.

When I go to settings --> remote access at first it says not available but then after a second it turns green and says ā€œfully accessibleā€.

I see that everyone here has downloaded and attached log files so I will do the same.Plex Media Server Logs_2020-10-09_16-13-52.zip (4.4 MB)

I don’t know what else to try. I am by no means an expert at any of this.

@shelli_weiss

That doesn’t sound at all like what we’re working on here.

It’s probably best to start a fresh thread where you’ve coordinated the playback together.

attaching both the server and player logs of the failed attempt makes the most sense.
Also attaching the XML (Get Info -> View XML) of the item you were trying to play helps because often, with remote access, transcoding is invoked

Well darn! you are the 1st person I have ever gotten a reply from when asking for help. I will go see if I can figure out how to get these logs you mention and start a new thread.

After your message, I re-installed the latest version of the server software after your post (and rebooted), and it has continued to stay connected so far. Thank you!

@ChuckPa Hello. Having trouble with remote servers. Likely same issue as everyone else.
Here are my logs. Do we know what is causing this yet? Any fix in sight?

@o_nicholas_protonmail_com

You turned DEBUG logging OFF. I can’t help from these logs.

  1. DEBUG ON is the default.
  2. Log files are fixed size - there is no additional cost keeping DEBUG on
  3. Don’t ever turn VERBOSE on unless requested – that level starts losing data after 2 minutes due to the volume of output and the fixed size of the buffer.

You need to turn debug on and then restart & recreate

@Sukopro

Please attach your logs so I may review

@ChuckPa

Hopefully fixed that issue. Stopped Plex and restarted it. Here are the new logs. If I still do not have it right can you tell me what I must do to resolve it?

@o_nicholas_protonmail_com

You didn’t click SAVE at the bottom after setting it in Settings - Server - General - Show Advanced

It might indeed be the issue so I will reset anyway :crossed_fingers:

@ChuckPa
I also seem to be having the same issue too
