Having the same issue!! message reads “SHIELD Android TV is currently unavailable Verify you have a network connection and that the server is online, or see our troubleshooting tips for further assistance.” This has been happening way too often. Plex HAS to do something about this. Hard to imagine why so many subscribers are having to deal with this issue.
I am completely new here and very lost not sure where I find logs etc and I’m having issues connecting to see my library then it works when I turn off n reset the Nas box but I can’t keep doing that.
I’ve also got it asking to access as an unsecured connection but again only lasts a limited time b4 it stops working right again please help
I’m looking at your logs.
PMS wants to use 32400 as the external port and not UPNP. Is this correct behavior?
If so, there is a firewall or port forwarding interfering . Reachability “0” means “False” (1 = reachable)

Please be advised, I do not know (or really support) Windows systems. My ability to help is limited.
The logs ZIP file can always be downloaded by going to Settings (Upper right – the wrenches) - Server - Download Logs
Everything in my house is working except my Tivo Mini which is the only thing I really use to watch plex.
PCs can connect. IOS devices can connect. My smart TV. Even my Tivo Roamio Pro… but the Tivo Mini… nope, it says that the server is unreachable.
Worked fine yesterday.
I don’t know about players but it stands to reason there is something with that player.
Have you considered uninstalling the player app and reinstalling & Linking it?
It doesn’t appear that I can uninstall the player on the Tivo mini - I even tried doing a factory reset and unlinking from my account. I can’t get to the point of being able to sign in.
My ios app wasn’t working either. It wouldn’t log in. I ended up uninstalling it and reinstalling it to fix it. I don’t have that option on the Tivo because it’s a built-in app - I’m kinda of stuck.
Update with the error I’m getting:
Plex is not reachable.
Make sure your server and device have internet connections and any firewalls or other programs are set to allow access.
Everything was great until I tried to use it today. The mini is fine otherwise, everything else is working as intended.
Summarizing?
- Server is working normally.
- All the players, except the Tivo are working ok.
- The Tivo app will not uninstall ??
Pretty much.
iOS is working correctly AFTER deleting and reinstalling.
Tivo proper is working correctly.
Tivo mini Plex app cannot contact Plex servers for login. But it can contact other internet data as well as other devices on the local network.
Plex app on Tivo is a standard app, it cannot be uninstalled as far as I know.
Thanks I found the logs they are attached here no idea what im doing lol I just need to find an easy fix as its driving me and hubby nuts not able to watch anything.
I am also getting errors loading screens as well as it keeps disconnecting my remote access as soon as i leave the screen once i set it.
@ChuckPa my system seems like it may be experiencing the same issue. Logs attached. My players are Tivo as well and worked Sunday but Monday stopped working. Plex Media Server Logs_2020-10-20_08-26-58.zip (1.2 MB)
Yep, same thing for me. Tivo mini worked on Sunday then didn’t on Monday and still doesn’t work today.
@ChuckPa it’s a sign in problem - the system is trying to connect to Plex.tv for the login and failing. My only options on the app are retry, fails back to the same screen. Go Home witch fails back to the same screen. Sign In, which does nothing when pressed.
with my machines i even removed them from my plex and the tivo boxes seem not to see that they are no longer authorized where prior if i deleted the device it would make me re-register it again.
I signed out of my Tivo Roamio last night and reregistered with Plex when I tried to sign back in, but that machine didn’t have the problem either before or after.
The Tivo Mini, gets stuck at the Plex cannot be reached screen. Nothing in my server log because it’s not getting that far. I tried removing from my list of approved devices from my computer, but the Mini is not getting far enough to matter. I even did a factory reset on the Tivo Mini, but it didn’t matter - same behavior. Even tried different DNS servers for fun with no effect.
All systems are using wired Ethernet. The Tivo Mini is working fine otherwise - it’s able to stream video from the Roamio, connect to the Tivo service over the internet - but can’t contact Plex.
I suspect something in the Plex back end is causing problems, but it seems that there are no other support options and this forum appears to be the primary way to report potential issues, so I’m hoping that by providing more info, it’ll get sent to the right place.
@eisenb11 my system matches yours and same behavior. I can access other services just not Plex and can not re-move and re-install as it is on the box by default.
@spcnut0722 So I made a post on Tivo Community to see if others were having the same issue and got a hit there - another person responded that things were working correctly on Sunday, then no more… just like you and myself!
In his case, his Tivo is working fine (like my Roamio), his newer Minis are working fine, but his older Minis are no longer able to connect to Plex. My Mini is an older V1 unit and can’t connect either.
This is really sounding like the result of some back end issue / change with Plex.
Folks,
This is one you need take to Tivo.
I’ve been advised of the Tivo’s support status – Tivo is no longer supported.
@ChuckPa if it’s a HW limitation from Tivo that’s preventing TLS 1.2 support there really isn’t much they can do. The units that stopped working are older. Can’t Plex offer an option to fall back to the less secure option?
Sure, we can buy a $30 Chromecast or something, but it isn’t about the money - it’s about having to hook yet another device up to the TV, with yet another remote control, etc.
My TV is a smart TV so I ended up switching to that to use Plex, but it was really nice having everything coming out of one box with one remote.
I’m with @eisenb11 on this. I have three TiVo premieres that stopped working because of this, and casting from my pc to the bedroom tv is less than ideal. For what it’s worth, as of this afternoon TiVo support still thinks I’m okay; they don’t realize that Plex has shut them off. I also would like an option to replace my updated Plex with a slightly older one that supports TiVo. Does such an option exist?
