Still looping all weekend.
Still looping through the week.
An entire week of Sonic Analysis looping. ![]()
Still rolling all weekend. New logs attached.

Midweek looping still looping.
Another weekend of Sonic Analysis.
I really hate lighting the Batsignal, but I’d like to make sure someone that matters sees this. @ChuckPa is there anything I can do here? Or is this something over my head?
Since last post I have tried removing anything that had been added to the library. They stayed out of the library for several days and there were a few server restarts between for other reasons (which I have other posts about).
Still chugging along, analyzing albums. Since this started I’ve had a few other potentially PMS related issues that have no answers.
Still seems to be occurring with the new server version: 1.41.9.9912
Just wanted to confirm I also have the following issue.
Started 3 days ago. Analysis started on my library without prompting and while it is still running, Im very curious as to why.
Running on unRAID v.1.41.8.9834
So far the issue still seems persistent in the latest build: 1.41.9.9917
Woke this morning to a corrupted database error. Attempting to follow the procedure that @ChuckPa outlines in this post:
On the part where I have deleted the blob files and rescanning the libraries. The Sonic Analysis loop persists.
I tried disabling Sonic Analysis on the Music library and restarting PMS. The constant buzz was getting in the way of my being able to complete the database fix attempt.
Once disabled, that did stop the Analysis Loop, but it would still attempt to intermittently scan the library, interrupting me again. It always seems to loop through the same 20 or so albums before restarting. I believe most if not all of these albums have existed in this library for years.
I’ve now fully removed my Music library. It keeps trying to scan, and I have no idea what “section 5” is.
I’m going to let it roll on this for a while and will report back.
Experienced a crash during the attempt to remove the library. Had to fully restart the QNAP to get it responsive.
The Music library is now gone. I am now able to proceed with the Database fix.
I am hesitant to readd Music until I can find an answer for all of this.
I feel like the issues with my Music Library may have gone further back than I originally thought. Back in December of 2024, I had posted this issue, which never really got resolved. I haven’t been able to manually optimize the database for a VERY long time:
Since I have removed my Music Library, Plex has been running like a champ. I have a few other posts about issues I’ve been recently experiencing that seem to have completely cleared up.
I’m going to close all of those as I feel like they’ve been resolved, but I wouldn’t call removing my Music as a fix at all. I’d like to have that back. I can’t use Plexamp without it.
Ran the DBRepair tool as a weekly process hopefully for the last time. This was the fastest it has ever completed it’s job. Plex has been running so silky smooth, snappy, and responsive as I could ever hope. I can perform the Optimize Database function and all of the other maintenance functions that are boxed in the web interface without any fear of crash.
I am considering trying to readd my music back into the system, but I am hesitant given the extreme performance boost I’ve experienced. I feel like it used to run like this eons ago, and somewhere along the line, something crept in so slowly that I didn’t notice the water coming to a boil.
I might try readding music and will report back next week. Fingers crossed.
Consider avoiding to create too many collections this time. Particularly track collections.
So, I tried to slowly add Music back to the server super slowly. I got up to the A’s for artists last night and decided to try manually optimizing the database. I’m not sure if I crashed, or if just the web server became unresponsive, but here are the logs after restart.

I hopped into QNAP to do a stop/start. Removed the Music library again, which prompted a system database optimization. Again, unsure if the system crashed, or just the web interface became unresponsive. Here are those logs:

Long story short, in order to have a snappy, responsive Plex server… it appears that I am unable to run a Music library. ![]()
As it stands, I cannot run a manual optimization. I’m going to run Chuck’s tool again tomorrow morning and see if I can’t fix that.
Attempted a manual optimize this morning.
Crash.
Ran DBRepair.
Attempted to start PMS. Didn’t start.
Attempted DBRepair again. Told me the database was not OK.
Restarted QNAP.
Ran DBRepair to restore yesterday’s database. Success.
Restarted PMS. No issues.
Afraid to attempt manual database optimizations again. Not having a good time with this. Still no Music.
