@ChuckPa
Can the IP block please be lifted?
it was only a short block (1 hr). already long since expired
@ChuckPa Ah thanks for the update.
However, I’m still unable to create a direct connection.
What can I do to fix this?
Look at what it’s telling you …
The certificate is not valid. (the red box)
If that is your FQDN, then what do the PMS logs tell you as it starts up?
Does your P12/PFX file contain Cert. Key, and CA ?
A post was split to a new topic: Windows: Unable to access server
Hi all!
Having same problem…everything was working and now i can’t remote access plex server.
Plex is showing that everything is fine…restarted router/docker - noting changed.
I’m running plex in docker container on unraid.
Thank You
I looked up your IP and port from Plex.tv and attempted to connect
[chuck@lizum tv.2032]$ netcat -vvvv XXX.XXX.XXX.x5 32400
Connection to XXX.XXX.XXX.X5 32400 port [tcp/*] succeeded!
I believe it is best to:
- VERIFY debug logging is enabled (SAVE if changes)
- Restart PMS
- Wait 3 minutes (for Plex.tv to confirm ‘reachability’)
- Attempt access
- Download the logs ZIP file
- Attach the ZIP file.
There are a couple things this could be.
Plex.tv confirms the server is reachable. (1 = reachable, 0 = not reachable)
[EventSourceClient/pubsub/192.46.236.7:443] PubSub: Got notified of reachability for async identifier e84a41c0-d6ab-4067-86e6-1074f75c674b: 1 for XXX.XXX.XXX.X5:32400 (responded in 49 ms)
According to the logs,
- There is no certificate error (plex.tv confirms)
- Reachability is true.
Silly question: Force Restart the app??
Tried force stop and clear cache on the app…Nothing…It works fine while i’m on the same network as plex server but as soon as I go on mobile server disappears
Plex.tv comes through your WAN IP address (modem/router + port forwarding + firewall )
If Plex.tv can reach your server (the WAN IP:port) then so should the app … because plex.tv gave it that same IP:port)
Sending you a PM of what Plex.tv sees.
Maybe your mobile provider is suppressing Plex server access. You are using the well-known port number 32400 on the WAN interface.
OK…It seems to be the problem with my pixel 6 phone…on other devices remote access works…Weird.
Thank You very much everyone
@chuck
I do come across this in the logs CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [::ffff:192.168.178.1]:55961: sslv3 alert certificate unknown (SSL routines)
Does your P12/PFX file contain Cert. Key, and CA ?
I don’t know how to check this
I believe I’m having the same error as the OP.
Nothing changed to the server, and then all of a sudden no access from mobile networks or my parent’s network from Android or FireTV app. But still works perfectly using the local wifi network of the server. And in settings in Remote Access it gives the green checkmark and says: Fully accessible outside your network
Let me know if you need the logs.
Thanks
I am having the exact same issue. However, the video eventually plays after about 5-8 minutes of loading, but it’s only a black screen with audio playing.
@vir2oso I have this also.
Did you try using vlc as an external player?
It seems like i have the same problem. I updated my server to the current version and then i had a connection for about 1 second then it lost it. And it seems to get a short connection when i change the port. but only for a second then it looses the connection again. If you need the logs just give me a heads up.
I seem to be having the same and/or similar problem. From within the same network I can access the web player but app.plex.tv are having problem. At first it were no connection whatsoever but now it says (freely translated from Swedish to English) “Limited connection. You are not directly connected to [servername] so the quality might be limited. It might be possible to achieve direct connection by changing the network settings.” What might my problem be? Have not updated server, Plex server, network gear or firmware in a while so it seems to be out of the blue.
