Is that not what I just did , then if not…how do i find them
What I’m finding is this:
(from yesterday)
Nov 10, 2023 21:29:00.248 [12932] DEBUG - [EventSourceClient/pubsub/172.105.97.53:443] MyPlex: Published Mapping State response was 422
Nov 10, 2023 21:29:00.248 [12932] DEBUG - [EventSourceClient/pubsub/172.105.97.53:443] MyPlex: Got response for 2335603f9eeb826824ccdb14dd63310498096e4e ~ registered :0
What I do see of importance here is the ‘422’ (throttled) error code.
Plex.tv is telling your PMS to stop trying.
The resolution here is to turn off Remote Access for 60-90 minutes then restart the server, let it settle, then turn remote access on
Ok had read that and will wait and see.
Any thoughts on why the tv link isnt working
when you say “TV link”, please explain further.
- Is it not signed into your account ?
- Can your tv not see the server ?
Is everything in the same subnet ?
MY parents across the street are signing into the plex app on the tv. It comes up with 4 numbers/letters that you add to the plex/tv. link site on your browser. this signing you into plex.
What happens it just shows the spinning icon
Thanks, now I understand.
We need to get your server to calm down first.
Once calmed down with no more 422 codes, I think it’ll sort itself.
First , let’s confirm the 422 is gone.
ok I will get back to you shortly, I really appreciate your help. Other than turning my computer off, which is my plex server and them turning it back on. Is that the same as your saying wait an and restart the server?
Just turn off Remote Access
Let it sit with Remote Access off for 60-90 minutes. ( I usually wait at least 60)
How did that work out for you?
My questions are therefore:
Is the server static or dynamic IP assigned? - **USING EXPRESS VPN**
Is the server wired or WiFi - **WIRED**
Is the port forwarding automatic (UPNP) or manual ? - **AUTOMATIC**
May I ask you to:
- Confirm you have DEBUG logging on - DONE
- Restart PMS - DONE
- Wait 4 minutes (let it remain idle) - DONE
- Download the logs ZIP file - DONE
- Attach that zip file here. - ATTACHED
Plex Media Server Logs_2023-11-12_16-48-34.zip (4.6 MB)
with the remote access off
Plex Media Server Logs_2023-11-12_16-59-10.zip (4.7 MB)
Plex Media Server.log (109.6 KB)
- I have the debug logging on (not extensive)
- Restarted PMS this morning
- Waited like an hour (just to be safe)
- & 5. Here is the log (I just edited out the library parts)
The Server has a fixed IP (also my Internet IP doesn’t change)
The Server is wired.
Port forwarding is set manually on 31425 (was 32400 before, restartet the router, the pc, and pms after changing the port forwarding)
Also had the remote access turned off for the night and turned it back on this morning
Good morning. Sorry something came up and i didn’t get back to this till now.
rebooted the system and did the manual port forwarding. worked for a min then stopped.
I here and there today but available after 8 pm to work on it with you some more. If that works for you. Thank you
Normally, info/error only logs don’t help but in this case you are lucky.
There is no connectivity to plex.tv

This looks like a gateway configuration issue.
Also changed the port number, used the link for checking ports and shows error
Windows is a strange animal. Please don’t forget to check the windows firewall / anti-virus allowed ports.
I’ve seen cases where, following an unattended windows update, they change by themselves.
The answer I’m looking for here is whether the server’s LAN IP is DHCP or static.
Telling me you’re using a VPN changes everything and gives good reason for PMS to not work.
Remote access through VPNs is a PAIN IN THE *** .
The reason for this:
- PMS sees your real WAN IP (from the modem/router)
- All your traffic is going out via a different (VPN) WAN IP
- The two addresses do not match. Game over
I can open / discuss in PM with you if you like about what should be the real IPs and what https://whatsmyip.org returns.
not sure how to do most of these things. Been reading over everyone post and see a lot of similar issues. Read the post from plex about them changing things. I don’t do much with the plex other than load shows for the wife, my parents are across the street and watch plex on there tv of course. Until a few days ago this all worked.
Not sure if this contributes to the issue, they don’t have there own plex account they just sign into my account on there tv and watch there shows.
They are across the street?
Do they have their own internet or do they piggy-back on your WiFi ?
there own…
Using the 207.x.x.x IP address Plex.tv has for you. port 31200
I am attempting to connect and am DROP* at the firewall.
Am I using the correct address/port ?
