Suddenly no remote access

@supermark10

Mark,
Yes, I have looked at your debug files.

I confirmed your Remote Access is not open

(0 = NO, 1 = YES)

In looking at your logs, I see you start playback then stop / disconnect ?

How is your QNAP connected to the internet?
Is the default gateway address correctly pointing at your modem/router IP?

As comparison, When I disable port forwarding for my QNAP, I get the same error as you

How do you have the network defined on your machine?

Question: Have you tried accessing your server in your mobile browser using https://app.plex.tv on the LAN WiFi ?

I am investigating a possible problem with PMS 1.32.7 and PMS 1.32.8

@supermark10 @stephen-breddam @stephen-breddam

I can provide you with PMS 1.32.5 if you need it as confirmation.
So far, there does seem to be a regression. This is what I’m trying to confirm/deny.

Well it seems to have resolved itself, shows remote access as green and has been so far for 15 min

If you need 1.32.5, Please don’t hesitate to ask.

There is something unstable somewhere which I’m trying to catch.

Is that a update.

1.32.5 is the previous version

1.32.7 is public
1.32.8 is beta

That’s why I ask.

I’ve already written a ticket for this.
I’ll add more to that ticket if needed and then present in tomorrow’s Engineering meeting.

well so far its holding and i can see the port with the site u gave out.

@ChuckPa Good news.

As I said earlier this morning I turned the modem/router and computer off all night. Plex didn’t stay on with the VPN on but I have had Plex remote access all day again with it off. That is better then not having it at all.

I don’t know why but it used to work all the time with the VPN on, that was a few months ago now though. I will only turn my VPN on when needed or turn it off when I need to use Plex with Remote Access. This is better then it not working with either. I would prefer if we could find a work around for this for VPN users.

Thank you so much for your help and everyone else with suggestions on what they were doing.

@dstanleytv

Plex has never worked with partial VPN configurations.

If you run a fully captive VPN (in the router) it will always work.

Check to see if your VPN has a split tunnel feature.

You can add the Plex server and it will bypass the VPN while everything else remains behind it

Edit:

Yeah, thanks Chuck.
I managed to get it working again, changing my port forward to a 4 digit port.
Somehow my router wouldn’t accept 5 digit ports anymore.

Thanks for all the help though.

How do i do a fully captive VPIN?

Thanks, I will get my computer expert friend to check it out @JaysPlex

Hi. I am having the same issue. Cannot access my server on any device

@ChuckPa ,
but on My app Plex i see that Access Remote is open. Why the debug says NOT ?
Yes when i start a film then stop and disconnect. But why ???
My Qnap it’s in my home network and it has a static IP as all my devices in home.
Yes it use the right gateway. Same of my homeline. Same DNS primary and Secondary.
I have only one network in my home, it’s much simple. Everythings has a static ip.
Maybe i must activate any flag on my Nas Qnap ?

I try from all TVs in my home that are connected by LAN and works perfectly.
Problem it’s only if i start a film from Wi-Fi or out of Network with 4g. Nothing. I can only 50 seconds…

Maybe after 50 seconds please would refresh a status of view of film and at same moment crash.
Maybe it’s problem of any port forwarding ??
Please help me.

I would do a Plex Pass for Life! I Love Plex.
Thanks.

Good Day, I came here looking for help with No Remote Access. I thought it was because I moved PMS to a different machine, but i honestly don’t know when it stopped working? Running PMS 1.32.7.7621-871abdb44. Pfsense port forwarding 32400. Zip file attached. any help is appreciated. Thank you

was link to log file, removed.

please disregard, it was a port forward issue in pfsense, resolved that and working. thx
