Latest PMS on DSM 7.

The latest PMS update seems to have broken the library scanner. 24*7 scanning.

Have to manually cancel scan from libraries section in config otherwise the scan keeps scanning for files.

After the forced cancel have to manually click on particular library to scan and update it properly. After updating that library it again starts endlessly scanning other libraries as before.

Haven’t changed any Plex settings lately. Was working fine before the lates PMS update.

To All:

I had to do some equipment (NAS) storage reconfiguring. I’m getting that storage back online today (RAID reshape).

As soon as it’s done, I’ll start trying to recreate this.

Newbie here. I have just bought a 220+. I understand I need to do a manual instal and how to do the settings. Really dumb question, am i correct in assuming that I instal the Intel 32 bit version?

64 bit Intel

The 32 bit, if it would install, would cripple the capabilities. You would have no hardware acceleration capabilities

I’m stuck. Finally upgraded to DSM 7.0.1-42218 Update 2

Trying to get Plex going and I’m getting the following error when I try to install Plex Beta from the Beta Packages. I’ve also downloaded the latest package manually and tried a manual install, but I’m getting the same error.

“Port 32400 configured for this package is either used by another service or reserved for system use. Please disable or modify the conflicting service, or contact the developer to modify the package configuration.”

I’ve uninstalled the previous package. Deleted the Plex user account. I have no Docker running. I’ve rebooted several times.

Any ideas? I miss my Plex!

@naizer

Did you download from Package Center or from Plex.tv ?

Was PMS still installed when you upgraded to DSM 7?

If it was installed, did you Repair or Upgrade PMS as directed by Package Center?

Can someone please help me. I am a Plex Premium user and have been using Plex with no issues for years. I have a Synology NAS DS918+. Lately Plex just stops running several times a day. When it is running it takes a very long time for the libraries to load, if they ever do.

I am using DMS 7. I did have to downgrade my PLEX version as reccomended. This has not helped me. I am currently running 1.25.4.5468-7000. I am using DSM 7.0.1-42218 Update 2.

I tried to read the logs but there is just a lot of logs and a lot of entries I cant seem to sort through.

Any help would be appreciated.

My Plex on DSM7 is running fine. But I can’t update since a few months. It happened before, with an update file, but with a new update it worked again.
At the moment I couldnt update for a long time.
When I start update it’s loading forever and nothing happens. Plex is running constantly.
I also tried to stop plex service and install upgrade, but didnt help.

I can’t believe nobody else has this issue.

Do you have data in the “Plex” shared folder or did you initially install Plex from Package Center (1.21.0.3744) ?

I have data in folder.

Thank you . That makes sense.

I think it’s trying to do the migration – which will make it sit at “Installing” for a long time.

Do you have a “PlexMediaServer” shared folder ?

I have movies my files in “PlexMedia” folder.
And there’s also an “PlexMediaServer” Folder.

I don’t see any actions in resource monitor. it looks like the NAS isn’t doing anything at all while it’s loading.

I keep getting idiotic message after installing multiple times and using token option that I don’t have access to the server and getting on my nerves. Advice? I’ve uninstalled and re-installed 3 times and does it each time. I’ve tried both “normal installation” option and “token” and get same message after installation.

tried messaging you in our old thread but apparently it was closed

With it stopped,

Manually go into PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server

Right click Logs and Compress to Logs.zip

Attach that zip here please. Let me see what’s happening.

Logs.zip (98.3 KB)

So……any update? :man_shrugging:

Yes,

You’re trying to claim it using the QuickConnect link (which completely breaks everything in DSM 7) while you’re on the same subnet.

Feb 11, 2022 10:07:53.410 [0x7f4b0bdd5b38] DEBUG - Request came in with unrecognized domain / IP '192-168-50-166.rbh4908.direct.quickconnect.to' in header Host; treating as non-local
Feb 11, 2022 10:07:53.410 [0x7f4b0b1bcb38] DEBUG - Request: [192.168.50.245:51688 (Subnet)] GET /web/js/chunk-931-1a0b3069d17d34088bc3-plex-4.69.1.20463-d3adc51.js (9 live) GZIP

Open it by the direct LAN IP. Once it’s claimed and part of your account THEN you can use the URL.

The reason this happens is because Synology took away my ability to have that link show you the LAN address.

Thanks

The more I look at what you have there, the more I think PMS should ALLOW the domain because it’s clear that the source IP and target IP are on the same RFC-1918 subnet.

I’m going to write a request for them to relax this specific criteria – ignore any referring domain name when source and target are on same RFC-1918 subnet.
