Synology Plex Stopped - Can't Restart

I try to turn on the service again but try to run but stops. First time to troubleshoot this with Synology and would like any help that anybody can give or some steps to do address this problem if anybody can help.

Please do the following:

  1. Control Panel - Shared Folders - Plex share - EDIT - Permissions tab
  2. Make sure your username has R/W permission
  3. File Station - Plex / Library / Application Support / Plex Media Server
  4. Right-click Logs -> Compress to Logs.zip
  5. Attach that ZIP file here. (you will need to download it from the syno to your computer)

Plex user name does have R/W permissions to the area. Here are the logs file attach, Thanks for the help ChuckPA.

In Control Panel - Shared Folders - Plex - EDIT - Permissions

Please make sure user Plex has R/W permission or Full Control.

Save the changes.

Restart.

It has R/W permissions. Here a pic of it. No problems before tho that why I didn’t get what up.

Also restarted., Same outcome.

What are the logs saying?

At the top of the Plex share, did something happen to folder tmp_transcoding ?

It can’t even see it

  1. no permission
  2. non existent
  3. a file instead of a directory

What the heck! :smile: That what the problem was the tmp_transcoding was missing. Don’t know how, I just remade a folder with the same name and started the service up and it running. Thanks for the help.

go figure, right?

I guess that’s an enhancement I’ll add to the Syno start scripts to make sure certain things exist before starting :slight_smile:
