I added another new movie today. Before I added the movie I performed the “Plex Dance”… I emptied the trash and I cleaned the bundles (under troubleshooting). I then tried all the things you said:
- I created a folder for the individual movie E: > Movies > Get Gone (2019) > Get Gone (2019).mp4
- I did not add metadata to the file before scanning the library.
- Once the movie was added to the library I looked up the release date from .themoviedb.org
- I manually wrote the file date to the movie in Plex (July 31, 2019).
- I waited until Plex was finished with the movie (adding it and looking for metadata).
- I then selected “Match” and let “Match Automatically” complete it’s cycle. It didn’t find the movie.
- I then selected “Match”, used the drop down “Search Option”. It brought up the Movie name & year… but I had to change from Plex Movies to The Movie Database, and then searched.
- No results found.
Can you think of anything else I can do?
