So I have the show correctly matched on Plex, but all the episodes are either titled wrong or not titled at all. For example, on TVDB Episode 1 is “The Pink Phink” and in my folder it’s labelled as “The Pink Panther - S1E01 - The Pink Phink” but Plex reads it as “Episode 1 The Pink Blueprint” (that file is “The Pink Panther - S01E18 - The Pink Blueprint”)
I just can’t figure it out.
You need to switch the “Episode Ordering” in the properties of this show to “TheTVDB (Aired)”. https://thetvdb.com/series/the-pink-panther/seasons/official/1
Then Refresh Metadata of the whole show.
By default Plex uses what’s on TheMovieDB.org: The Pink Panther Show: Season 1 (1969) — The Movie Database (TMDB)
which apparently doesn’t fit your files.
I’ve been using TVDB for the show and have it as “aired” but still have the issue. On TVDB when you click DVD order it gives you an error. I used filebot to name all the episodes according to the aired order. It has 4 seasons on my plex and it picks up on that, but just can’t get the episodes named correctly.
However, it seems that the episodes that have the wrong name are all in the same season at least…if that’s a clue.
Rename your show folder to “The Pink Panther (1964)” and also rename all the files in the season folders below to match. You’re more than likely currently matching to “The Pink Panther Show” which indeed uses the order/episodes you mention.
Or, compare what you have to:

And then use the appropriate show name and release year.
After taking either of these approaches, you’ll likely need to Plex Dance the entire show.
I have it named exactly in that format and used the same format in filebot to name them all according to the air order. I’ve also tried the plex dance and I haven’t had any luck. Even after removing trash and cleaning caches.
I noticed my Library matches the link to the pink panther show (1969) at https://watch.plex.tv/show/the-pink-panther-show/season/1
But on TVDB its very different and the same show. The Pink Panther - Unknown - Season 1 - TheTVDB.com

The problem isn’t with your files being named wrong it’s with the main show folder
Interesting. In your first post you showed the above as your naming (without the release year). I must have misunderstood. Perhaps it would be best at this point to show a screenshot with your actual folder structure. All that should be required here is to include the release year for the correct show in your folder name and file names (and use TheTVDB aired order after it’s matched correctly).
Oh, and include the extra zero in the season in the file names (S01E01 vs. S1E01).
Thanks you everyone for helping me out. It turns out I had the wrong year and never even considered that they made another show with almost the same name. Using the 1964 version fixed it.
The Pink Panther (1964) {tvdb-71554} is the one I needed. Just need my library to be perfect.
