This server is unclaimed and not secure PLUS An update is available not going away

Player Version#: web client

OK I’ve gone through the forums and tried everything suggested, I think. I’ve changed permissions (although they looked fine anyway). I’ve tried incognito mode on the web client, and even different browsers.

I’ve also upgraded to the latest version but it’s still telling me that an upgrade is available to install manually.

Nothing’s working. Any suggestions?

What is the IP address of the computer and IP address of the NAS?

NAS is 192.168.1.23 - fixed IP
Router is 192.168.1.1

Hi trumpy81. Thanks for your suggestion.

Now that I’ve finished for Christmas I thought I’d have another look at this. No joy with the reboot. No joy with deleting plexmediaserver.pid and Preferences.xml. It also occurred to me to remove registered devices - no joy.

I also had the problem that my movies metadata had stopped working, for no apparent reason.

So I thought I’d do a full uninstall (How to uninstall Plex completely from my Synology NAS?) and reinstall. STILL no joy - I still get the “unclaimed and not secure” message.

Any other ideas? Could this be a client-side problem?

I am having the exact same issue on a DS1817+. It started out of nowhere. I have tried all the same reboots and deletes, etc. with no luck.

What is the IP address of the computer you’re accessing from and what are the IP addresses in use on the Synology? are you in any way “remote” from it? Is it in Docker or a VM on the Syno?

192.168.69.29 on NAS. I have tried from 3 IPs to claim it. Remote is “grayed” out since I can not claim. Pretty sure no on last two questions.
