Tidal throwing DRM errors on arbitrary (now all) files

I have exact the same problem as you Anderstn, I was about to create a new topic when I saw yours. The “Error code: s6007 (DRM)” appears randomly when I try to pay Tidal albums/track added to my own Plex library when playing in the browser.

I did already the following:

  • reinstall Plex package (on Synology DS918+)
  • relink Tidal subscription
  • tried Chrome, Edge, Firefox browser
None of these steps seem to resolve it and in the logs I cannot find a hint.

So far, I did not encounter issues when I use Plexamp on my phone, but I want to use the web interface on my company laptop. Quite annoying.

@Plex team, would be appreciated if you could respond / support us in this matter

I signed up for a Plex pass for extra features and this time thought I would trial Tidal. I’ve got to say that I am very disappointed. Songs randomly say they can’t play, or DRM errors when they played perfectly fine the day before. I keep getting the error “S6007 (DRM)”. Artists radio suddenly stops working, hangs and won’t play any more. My internet connection is good, so i thought maybe Tidal’s server is experiencing problems. Tried tidal just now and it works perfectly, whereas Plex it is still not. Is there some issue between Plex and Tidal? Can anyone help?

I’m running into the same thing trying to play Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers on tidal via my plex library in chrome:
The “Error code: s6007 (DRM)” message pops up every other song.

Same problem testing my patience here, please help @Plex.

I had the impression that it was improving, but since a week when I am playing the new album of The Midnight (Monsters), I get the error after 1 or 2 songs…

@Plex: please help with this issue. This is not contributing to the one library experience…

I had the same impression. For a some two to three weeks I have had no errors then today two arbitrary songs failed again. Really pissing me off how Plex never seem to properly fix intermittent issues :frowning:

I’m getting the s6007 error code now too. Only on Tidal songs. It will play 1 song just fine and then play about 1 second of the next song and then throw the error.

This only happens in the web player. All Tidal songs work fine in Plexamp. I don’t like using Plexamp though, because I can’t get it to scrobble to Last.fm, but that’s another matter that I don’t have a solution for either…

For me it has been working pretty well since my last post in August. That said I have been very busy and not had as much time to listen to music. It is kind of weird though. Your experience with the error happening a second or two into the song is something I have not yet experienced. I have always gotten the error straight away with no playback happening at all. That said I have purposely not updated my server in a while because of the stability I started experiencing in August. If that’s a placebo effect or not I don’t know as the changelogs provided by Plex is geared more towards advertising new features as opposed to telling you what, if any bugs, have been resolved.

So I finally had to update my server, as plex.tv didn’t want to make a direct connection otherwise, and as I feared the Tidal integration now appears to be utterly ■■■■■■ once more :frowning:

PS: I am now seeing behaviour close to what others have described with generic playback errors showing no specific error code or songs that just won’t play with no error appearing.

For the first time ever my issues now appear to come with the effect that all things Tidal is unavailable. Including my Tidal library itself:

Having the exact same issue as @Anderstn

I recentely updated as well, but I must say that I haven’t encountered the DRM-issues for some 2 months or so… It’s working well for me

Well, Tidal stuff has been working flawlessly the last month or so, but now everything from Tidal just says “Source is Unavailable”

It would appear Tidal has completely disappeared as a source on my Plex account. I’ve tried unlinking and relinking my Tidal a couple times now. It appears to link correctly but doesn’t show up or allow me to play anything from Tidal. It also doesn’t show up as an option to enable in Online Media Sources…it’s just completely gone.

Just been made aware of this thread. Sorry you guys haven’t gotten help with this.

It is possible that the link between what you added to your library and Tidal got broken. When adding Tidal content to your library, there is a Tidal ID used to track the content. Sometimes Tidal will reorganize content so that ID could have changed. This would allow the tracks to still play from the Tidal library, but it will be broken from your library. Removing the content from your library and adding it back should fix it. Let me know if that does fix it for you.

See my comment above.

Are you still seeing this? I don’t see any issues on your account that would cause this.

Thanks for your reply. Good to have your suggestion in mind. However, since 4 months I do not encounter this issue anymore while I did not change anything or used your method. It also only appeared in the web player, not in Plexamp.

Anyway thanks for your response and when I encounter it again I will apply your solution.

It randomly showed up again a couple days later, so all it working correctly. I’ll chalk it up to a random glitch. :man_shrugging:

Just cancelled my Tidal HiFi account. For reason I put “Does not properly integrate with Plex”

Which issues were you specifically having? I know it’s not always perfect, but I do find it generally works pretty well besides a few smaller annoying issues.
