Tidal throwing DRM errors on arbitrary (now all) files

Constant DRM playing error. Explicit album selection issue. Playlist issues when it comes to starting a track and then it starts at the beginning of the list. .List was growing. Posted it in another thread but got pushed over here since this similar. Not sure what the point of the integration is when there are songs that I could outright NOT play at all but worked fine through the tidal app/web.

I think I know how to fix both of those. They’re both two of the annoying issues I was referencing.

Not sure about the playlist issue, however.

See here:

As of today, all Tidal albums added to my library will not play through Plex Web (Chrome). The albums play fine in Plex for Windows and in Plexamp.

You used the word ā€œworkaroundā€ and ā€œfixā€. These are two completely different things…

I’m getting the same thing.

I have been experiencing the same issue on all my computers (Windows and MacOSX). It used to only happen sometimes, but now every song from Tidal will not play and throws a s6007 (DRM) error. VERY frustrating!!!

Glad to hear from an actual Plex employee and get to the bottom of the problem. However this is not a workaround that has any practical value. My library consists of ~50 albums I have ripped from my own collection along with perhaps 50-100 tidal tracks. I use these, like many others probably would, in a combined playlist with ~500 tracks. To run around remembering which of the 500 tracks in this playlist came from Tidal or sift through every album I have in my library to check for Tidal errors is not a real solution.

To be perfectly frank a big part of me is amazed that the feature of combining your own content with content from Tidal was even released when you have no stable way of tying the latter to the servers library. At least if you know the Tidal ID is all over the place I would have included a feature that looks up all Tidal tracks and associates them with the proper ID at regular intervals to prevent a lot of pissed of users wondering why they are getting consistent issues with the Tidal integration. After all the album meta-data and the track meta-data should be pretty stable regardless if the ID has changed.

As for me this is a great big nail in the coffin for my Tidal subscription. It’s just not worth it when I’m loosing the ability to fill out their catalogue via my own collection. And simply playing their playlists through Plex is also pretty pointless.

I’ve been experiencing this issue on and off for months on Tidal tracks but now, like others, no Tidal tracks will play from my library at all (Error code: s6007 (DRM)). Gonna cancel my Tidal sub if this isn’t fixed soon since it’s pretty useless to me now unfortunately.

Everything worked with me on Plex web player until today. Tidal songs start playing but fail on error after two or three seconds. Removing from my Tidal wont help. Doesn’t matter if the content is On Tidal section or in my Plex. However, on PlexAmp Tidal content plays without problems.

As stated above, Tidal integration with Plex server music content is the only reason to go for Tidal in many cases (me included). Hopefully this gets fixed soon enough.

We’re tracking down the recent s6007 errors with TIDAL playback in web browsers.

In the meantime Plexamp and Plex for Windows/Plex for Mac players are playing TIDAL correctly. Plexamp requires a Plex Pass subscription while Plex for Windows/Plex for Mac are available for all users.

The recent s6007 TIDAL playback issue has been resolved.

Running 1.22.3.4392 and getting this issue of S6607 a lot. Doesn’t seem to happen in Plexamp as far as I’ve noticed at least.

Perhaps resolved in 1.22.3.4523? Its not listed in the changelog but I’ll update tomorrow and cross my fingers
