I have a new gaming laptop, plenty of space and power. However, the latest plex server will not recognize the video files accurately as it did on the older underpowered machine. Several restarts and reinstalls fixed nothing. Help? I did not see this issue discussed in the forums or the site.
You’re gonna need to provide more details.
I installed the server into a new gaming laptop 16 g ram 1tb drive with a 4gb graphics card. One week ago on the old pc all the videos scraped perfectly, just nowhere as quickly. I attached the usb to the new pc and completed a proper restart. When asking plex to scan the libraries, the movies came in fine but the TV library is not. Various episodes of assorted shows are stuffed together into a folder labeled TV is Dead every folder has the same poster from Dirty Jobs. Editing information is not possible, adding metadata is missing along with all the rest of the info fields. I have reinstalled twice, same issue. Point: the only change is the faster system with far more room. Everything else is exactly the same as when it worked last week.
Did you move the PMS files from the old computer to the new one? If not, then it’s a new server and nothing is the same. The TVDB is also changing things on their end like how some shows are named so this could affect matching that use to work.
Plex Dance 1 TV show and get me the entire log package.
