Trying to Wipe away all the trace of PLEX from my Synology so I can start from scratch

I’ve been running Plex on Synology NAS for years without issues. And today I made the biggest mistake and enabled 2-factor authentication and changed my password. And since then I lost access to my Plex server and it no longer shows up on my PLEX players.

To remedy the situation, first I tried this guide

https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/

Sadly it didn’t resolve the issue.

So I googled more and found this guide

Once again, sadly, it didn’t resolve anything. And now I don’t even see the “No Soup For You” message and the server is not listed in the Plex player or web player.

So after following the two guides above, I am left with what looks like a vanilla installation.

I really wish not to go through the pain of adding media and build my library again… Would you please help me to have my server running again? Thank you so much!!

Server Version#: 1.18.5.2309
Player Version#:

Anybody? Should I delete everything and start from scratch? Please help…

Ok I decided to wipe out PLEX from my Synology by following these steps

  1. Uninstall the app in Package Center
  2. Control Panel - Users - Delete user - Plex
  3. Control Panel - Shared Folders - Delete the Plex share.

But after re-installing PLEX on Synology,
I still see this log-in screen

And it still thinks there is no PLEX server.

What should I do now?

How can I completely completely erase all the trace of PLEX from my Synology so I can start from a new library?

Now I am getting this message.

I am the same user. Signing in from the computer.

And I followed these steps to completely erase PLEX from Synology but why does it act like if it looking at the old data?

Thanks @pandas.

According to the page,

" NAS Installs

Use the device’s normal graphical interface to remove the package.

Be aware that not all package uninstallers will remove all the metadata content in addition to the application itself. In such a case, if you wish to remove all the metadata files and other ancillary content, you’ll need to do so manually, which is beyond the scope of this article. If you need assistance, please post in our support forums."

So can anyone explain how to wipe away PLEX from Synology besides taking these 3 steps?

  1. Uninstall the app in Package Center
  2. Control Panel - Users - Delete user - Plex
  3. Control Panel - Shared Folders - Delete the Plex share.

To add to FordGuy61,

When we get to DSM 7, I will have a new mechanism for us.
It’s already in testing in DSM 7 preview.

That does NOT mean you should upgrade to the Beta. it’s FAR from production ready

I’m just posting here to let you know I’ve got this handled in the rewrite of PMS packaging for Synology.
