TV Show missing metadata

Hello together

I tried to add the TV Show Log Horizon (ログ・ホライズン - TheTVDB.com) but Plex can’t get the metadata. Also tried to rename the folder to ..\Animes\Log Horizon (2013) but no luck with that.

Go to your unmatched folder for Log Horizon, Select match from the edit menu, under search options enter log horizon, 2013 and use the movie database as the search agent and plex will find it. :slight_smile:

Really strange Plex wasn’t able to find the show with the name “Log Horizon” using TheTVDB. Searched manually for the ID #272128 and it was found.

The Movie database i think is linked to IMDB so i always use that if the other cant find a match.

I am pretty sure there is something up the TVDB agent at the moment as there are a load of recent posts about TV matching, but none of them seem to be getting any response from Plex.

Using the TVDB ID is the current workaround.

Folks,

I got a response on what’s happening. It’s a bunch of changes at TheTVDB which are causing us grief.

  1. They renamed a bunch of shows. For some, they added the year while removing it for others.
  2. They’ve started bringing their new API live – which won’t be complete for some time AFAIK.

I’m going to pursue this further but there are a few options.

  1. Using the new Plex TV Series agent works best
  2. Using the existing agent, adding the ID number to “manual match” resolves the name. (P.I.T.A****)

Best recommendation is to use the new scanner in Forum Preview now.

Thanks for the feedback.

But not sure I am quite ready to unleash the New Scanner just yet. I will stick with using the ID for now.

Although what I do find a bit odd, is that using swagger to query the api. I do get the correct result(s) from the api when searching by name, but the correct series does not appear in the matching window in plex, only the incorrect one.

To give this a good shakedown, I just launched a rebuild of my “QA TV” Library.
It contains almost 900 TV series.

Let’s see how far it gets. :smiling_imp:

Yes, that works most of the time thank goodness. But I found that for some shows like the original Doctor Who which would not match with the TVDB (it wanted to match to Doctor Who Confidential instead), that the specials do not match up to the file names properly. Hopefully this gets resolved soon so I can go back and re-match the series.
