If only the wrong dates could be for future shows

I’m no longer relying on the car crash that is Plex’s EPG.. It’s no longer worth the effort, frustration and continued disappointment.
<rant>
I believe that the size and complexity of the problem means that this situation could be ongoing for weeks. I hope I am wrong though.
I do not believe there is a robust fix-process in place that makes this continued struggle worth the effort (cases in point: Paramount's failed fix, Channel 4 & More 4 going backwards and now your ITV2 issue today). Again, I hope I am wrong.
It is also possible that TiVo/ROVU are currently out of their depth and simply cannot cope with the global complexity of Plex’s contract with them.
So, given:
- the lack of transparency of the problem landscape from Plex
- the hours I have already spent on this (and I know you guys have as well)
- the inability to see the light at the end off the tunnel
- that Plex appear to rely on us to highlight their issues
- that fixes have failed
- that my EPG has only gotten worse after 2 weeks
- this is a paid for service, yet No acknowledgement or apology from Plex. (I am referring to their blog or a formal email (not the employees on this forum)
…this is simply no longer worth my time and effort.
To be super clear, I am positive that Plex employees are working long, hard and taking this quite seriously. …but sometimes that is not enough.

Having written all that, my Plex EPG is sitting there (not recording anything), so I can confirm I am seeing what you see.
Its only 11:30, but I need a drink now (not really), but just writing that has wound me up.

We need to see updates, about every 3 days saying what issues are being worked on, not just left in the dark not knowing
There are numerous errors in todays epg for channels 1 to 5, thats without checking ones that have a Season/Episode, which i could guarantee some of these will be wrong also
Mine is only set to record Midsomer Murders, Poirot & Marple, so if i miss theses ii am not too bothered, everything else has been moved off Plex
So would be nice if we can get an update from Plex

What is the status of date based episodes having the wrong date
What is the status of episodes with S/E number that are wrong
What is the status of still having nothing in the EPG for various channels
I can see this. There were a number of fixes for this area - I am not sure if they have been deployed. I will gather diagnostics for the team
I agree this is serious
Channel 54 data has now been processed at our end and should be visible. There is an issue with the Plex Media Server incremental guide refresh which runs every 4 hours, in that it assumes it has a baseline of valid 14 day guide data that it is incrementally moving forward by 1 day - refreshing next 24 hours (as it is important to recordings) and day +14. So I am afraid to see the full data up to the 19th July - you need a full refresh (Settings / Server / Live TV & DVR / Refresh Guide)
I have raised the issue with incremental refreshes with the server team to see if we can introduce automatic full refreshes
@sa2000 What about Now 80 and Now 90? Both these do not show what’s on either… I’ve not run Tvheadend yet, but will probably do over the next 24 hours dropping out of the beta as I’ve got to much on my plate this end.
Hope it’s fixed for other users soon though, keep that flak jacket on though as I can see it getting worse and Plex finding an alternative again or dropping TV altogether by 2020!!

What do you mean by a full refresh? Do you mean manual or delete/re-add the DVR?

@JCHH I think he means manually refreshing by going into settings and TV side and hitting refresh every 7 days from the PMS. My workaround using Tvheadend will do this automatic as it’ll give me updated EPG every whatever I ask it to, saves messing… Rovi/TiVo are the issue for Plex.

@JCHH not a problem! I’m contemplating things, it’s a case of do I or don’t I? At the moment I’ve got loads to do here, so my beta testing is now on the side burner, and with everything the way it’s gone, my mind is set on just giving up now, and just going with my own EPG data, it seems to be the only way forward. Maybe we’ll see a fix, or maybe live TV will just die and Plex will revert back to its origins of a media server for those like myself that have terabytes of movies and TV shows already on hard drives.
I’ll monitor how things are progressing, and help out when I can. It’s just a shame Plex doesn’t support satellite TV tuners, issues don’t happen as much and regions are just easier to fix than DTT OTA???

Of those, ITV1+1 is the biggest issue by a long way.

The More4 group still has occasional incorrect programming (catches you out)

The Channel 5 group still has occasional incorrect programming
- 005 5 - has occasional incorrect programming (eg: 10pm tonight)
- 105 5 HD - has occasional incorrect programming (eg: 11pm tonight)

Neighbours missing S/E, but date is ok
Home and Away missing S/E, has the wrong date, so it looks like it’s todays airing in Oz
Eastenders on BBC1, wrong Episode number
The Chase ITV has wrong S/E
News on ITV has a date in the past
All reported (I think but have no way of checking)
…and that’s 50% of the problem right there - are we duplicating things (waste) or are we missing things (problem never solved)…
It’s not so hard for Plex to keep a spreadsheet up somewhere of reported issues that we can check first - a bit like the Plex NAS compatibility list …oh, and include the fix status.

Everything on Pick TV before 5pm has todays date instead of S/E or correct aired date
All shows on 5Spike today have todays date as aired date
Same with everything on Food Network
Same on Challenge
And the same on CBS Reality & CBS Drama
All shows have a date of today instead of correct episode/aired date
I gave up on the CBS channels and went no further, but that is a huge amount of shows today that are wrong
I see this too for Pick, 5Spike and CBS Drama (I don’t have the other channels).
Are these new problems?
Oh dear, seems Plex have got a legal battle cashed the UK consumer watchdog on the case, released none working EPG to paying customers.
It’s in another thread, and updates are being fed to!! Broken Plex Android app on certain devices and now a messy EPG… I’m glad I’m out of it, the side of Plex that we use the most is for stored media, I’ve almost had a breakup with my partner because of the Hours I’ve put in and got nowhere!!
@sa2000 I think a full body hasmat suit and padding will be needed!!
