The only known issue is that some items may show as To Be Announced because of delayed availability of the actually detail from the guide provider. A temporary fix for that would be to run a full manual refresh every few days
Is there no way to automate this?
I posted a script much earlier in this thread, I still have this running at 1am on a daily basis while we wait…

I came here having encountered the same problem. I am probably not up to creating and running scripts so I will be manually updating the guide every week until this is fixed. Needless to say I am anxiously awaiting some good news. I love this product and am grateful for your efforts 
I have had this problem for some time too. I am in the UK, using a HD HomeRun Connect Quatro on a Windows 10 PC. Although the guide does update, sometimes it’s only a few hours before the broadcast is due. If I manually update the guide I get the next 14 days without problem.

I’ve used your script yet I’m finding recording now fail. Yet it doesn’t happen when refreshing manually.
It’s just frustrating
Honestly can’t see that the 2 are related, the script just makes the same web call to update the EPG as plex web does. Nothing to do with recordings at all, I’m running it every day and recordings still working too.
I get the frustration though, things like a PVR need to be reliable 
tbh this makes Plex pretty much useless as all I do with it is record broadcast programmes. As I’m not at home much of the time I can’t be manually updating the guide regularly. I book recordings remotely and even if I see a programme is to be broadcast this evening the guide will not have refreshed until a couple of hours beforehand. If I see something is on later in the week I might as well forget it.
I’ll look out for a fix but there isn’t one seen will have to cancel my subscription and look elsewhere. This problem has being going on for yonks.

Come on Plex, this bug is doing my head in! Can you at least put an option under settings to enable a full guide scan every 24 hours? You can leave it disabled by default if you like to keep the EPG source providers happy, but I’d very much like to have a TV guide that actually refreshes correctly… you know, like every other off-the-shelf PVR box does. Pretty please!? Surely adding that small tick box into settings won’t take too much effort and it’s likely to make a lot of currently grumpy customers slightly more smiley. I’ll start warming up my facial muscles ready if you can at least reply to say you’re working on this… I won’t be making any threats to cancel or anything because I have a lifetime Plex Pass, I make good use of it with family sharing, offline mobile syncing and of course TV recording - the product as a whole I consider to be great value. It’s just this one small bug that’s causing me a headache that I reckon you could easily fix for everyone.
This sounds a good idea if plex are struggling to sort the issue properley this would at least allow those of us with epg refresh problems to keep an up to date guide.

@sa2000 I agree, I got the script working, which is not easy, but can confirm that by having a full EPG update once per day, this issue is resolved. Please can you add a tick box for a full EPG once per day within the maintenance tasks?

@sa2000 At every update over the last months I have been hoping for a solution to this hopeless situation, why cannot this simple suggestion be implemented whilst the back office faffs around?
I am also having this problem. The automatic refresh only provides guide data for a day or two ahead. But if I run a manual refresh then I get 1-2 weeks of data. I have ticked the guide refresh option under scheduled tasks. I wish this ran a full refresh.
@sa2000 @elan Could you both please ask the Plex developers to add a maintenance task that enables a full update of the EPG?
This is also the case for my in the UK, very frustrating.
I also have the same problem (UK and hosting PMS on Nvidia Shield). I am watching this thread avidly for an update from the Plex team!

To be honest, though, I’m not convinced the two reasons you mentioned are the cause, since it pretty much happens most days / weeks and it seems unlikely (albeit possible of course) that either of those things would happen this regularly. Either way, even if they are the cause, clearly they are not occasional problems and therefore incremental updates are not sufficient for the guide to functional correctly.
