UK Scanning Issue - Losing Channels

So Im in somerset and use the mendip transmitter. I’ve got Quest coming up as Channel 12. (which is correct) but the EPG data still reports it was Dave (the old 12).

Can we look this issue please.

just removed all tuners and rescanned as Mendip which is my local transmitter. and I’m missing channels 1 to 10, which are rather important, being BBC1,2,ITV3,C4, etc…

It is possible that a different line-up (the 16 line-ups I mentioned when you go through DVR Setup) may have those channels.

Plex Media Server picks the best match for the set of channels the tuner states as being available.

All I can suggest is trying different line-ups overriding the one that Plex Media Server picks.

What are the channel names ? May be they are allocated different channel numbers?

Do they appear at the end of the list without channel numbers?

If they do, this is a Freeview issue, can affect many PC based systems…intermittently

Did the tuner list those channels when scanning channels?
Was this with different post code than one you had before?
Or same post code ?
Was this with different lineup during setup ?

Would need logs covering setup to see what post code being used, what lineups being checked and what their unique identifiers are so can check them out

yes, this is still all over the place. According to Gracenote. Dave is still on 12, Quest is still 37 and DMAX is 42. Which is wrong. Can we look at the mapping again please? @sa2000

These are the right channels :- https://www.freeview.co.uk/tv-guide#QmspjQE24sqmIK7e.97

yep - Dave is wooing for me too in Oxfordshire; I have to remember to manually fix it each time.

Did the tuner list those channels when scanning channels?

Selecting DVB T/T2 - UK ( Full Frequancy) - I get all the channels for my area, 155.
Selecting DVB T/T2 - UK (Mendip, Somerset) - I dont get Channels 1-10 AKA BBC 1 etc.

Was this with different post code than one you had before?
After Scanning I alway enter Postcode BA8.

Or same post code ? Yep Same Post code both times.

Was this with different lineup during setup ? Not sure of your question? I’m getting the same results each time.

Thanks for the feedback. I have passed the information on and we are raising it with Gracenote. The announcement of the change dated 12th June.

Interesting! When I look at the EPG in plex, becuase its gracenote driving, Even though Quest is on channel 12. and I’m pull EPG data from Channel 37. The EPG data is still show Dave as channel 12.

Most likely due to all the changes going on, The UHF channels have changed so Plex probably has the old ones, which is why you are missing channels when selecting Mendip

Plex Media Server Logs_2019-06-14_19-01-54.zip (2.8 MB)

Log files for my scans as requested.

I agree, thats why I’m losing channels, the Quaility of the UK feed on gracenote is poor, but it’s also becuase I think Plex are using the Gracenote data the wrong way around. Why is the ‘selection’ not driving by the scan and then matching sources to it, Rather than the EPG is ‘right’ and then matching channels to the EPG source…

…are you referring to Plex’s change or the BBC announcement?

@sa2000 Here’s the Wales Freeview EPG lineup, I’m hoping I’ve done it correctly - https://www.freeview.co.uk/tv-guide#cQjORAm0JSUlpPqW.97

As you can see, the channels I’ve mentioned that are currently missing are there!!

Dave

@sa2000 Just a quick one regarding channel changes, here in Tonyrefail, we’ve already had our retune last month before Gracenote dropped off 207, 208 and 21. I’m sure we have one more retune for Wenvoe Transmitter next week to move one more mux to the new frequency because of the 5G.
Grapefruit on the other hand just needs fixing

Dave

Hi @systemshark,
Have you tried scanning since yesterday? Seems losing BBC Channels means you can stop paying for the licence
I’ve tried rescanning here using the Freeview Data set chosen by user XYZ, and still channels missing…
There are a few users now jumping on board, here’s hoping the issue actually does get fixed?? That’s a thing, if Emby also uses Gracenote, are they using the OnConnect EPG or the other one? Just a thought…

Dave

Hi mw0dcmplex.

Yes I’ve tried several times since sa2000 said he had updated the build etc. I’m on the latest build etc.

Whilst the EPG does load faster. I’m missing loads of channels. Hence my list.
