I saw in another article that the PMS certificate was “stuck”. Could this be the case for me? It seems like an issue with HTTPS encryption. All of my system Plex server account has permissions to the NAS share folders.

Your certificate is ok.

I look at Plex.tv. It has record of PMS 1.40.4.8840

This tells me that the Syno has not logged into Plex.tv

Have you attempted to:

  1. Uninstall the package (KEEP option; first radio button)
  2. Reinstall the same SPK – HOWEVER
    – Use the “Plex Claim Token” radio button
    – Click the “Get Plex Claim Token” hyperlink
    – COPY the token from the browser tab
    – PASTE it into the install page
    – Click NEXT - NEXT - DONE and let it install

Let me know if this doesn’t resolve it

Ref:

I uninstalled with the keep option, reinstalled the latest package, and followed the Plex Claim Token instructions. However, I received the following error: “Failed to install the package. ERROR: Could not complete dialog with Plex.tv. Unable to claim. Please try again or seek assistance in support forum.”

Ok, I got a little bit further. I had a bad DNS server entry pointing to a pi-hole instance that isn’t working correctly. I set this 1.1.1.1 and the installation was successfully and said I claimed my Plex server. However, I still do not have a successful connection to my library or server from the web page.

Finally resolved. I guess all of my pinned shares were pointing to the DSM7 server library or something. I deleted these and found the newly claimed server and re-pinned the libraries. All is working now. I will definitely hesitate before recklessly clicking firmware update on my NAS in the future…,
