Unable to load movies from my Synology NAS

I’m unable to add movies to Plex from my server. When I create a library and assign it a folder on the NAS, the library doesn’t add the files from the folder.

Could be for a number of reasons – with the little information we can mostly only guess.

The most common/obvious cause appear to be a permission issue. Make sure the system user for the Plex Media Server on your Syno has access to the library folder.

Otherwise… here’s a list of potential reasons why Plex might ignore your files:

I checked the permissions, and plex has read/write permission.

You’re on DSM7… so make sure the user which has access is actually PlexMediaServer – not plex.

Thanks Tom. How do I do that? When I check permissions, PlexMediaServer doesn’t show up. I tried to create one named “PlexMediaServer”, but it’s not letting me.
