Unable to play any channels that are currently in use

I finally figured out how to easily sideload APK to my CCwGoogleTV using “send to TV” app and APKmirror site. I uninstalled the most recent (with the bug) version and loaded up 10.2.0.4488 (83522c5) and it worked as expected.

So, whenever a Plex support person wants to take notice, we’ve narrowed it down to a bug with the Plex Android TV app. You’re welcome! :kissing_heart:

I am having the same issue on my nVidia Shield - unable to watch a TV programme that is currently recording. It was working fine last week!!

Very annoying, please fix as soon as possible!

Have just tested the latest beta (10.5.0.4892-beta), but it looks like this is still an issue.

I have just installed version 10.3 using a similar method to you.

Working again now … thank you!

I’ll stick with this version (and have turned off auto updates) until Plex fix this issue.

Be aware, my GoogleTV (androidTV) unit updated itself to the newer, buggy version and I had to uninstall and use the “send to TV” app on my phone (as described above) to load the older one back again. This will get annoying, but it’s the only temp fix we have.

You can also turn off auto updates on your Android TV. It will mean you’ll need to manually check/install other app updates occasionally though… but I figured this would be easier than having to re-instate the working version of the Plex app each time!

Can confirm. I have downgraded to 10.3, and I am now getting the play from start/play live message and channels that are being used already are also now accessible on my shield. Hopefully this get’s fixed soon!!

I’m not sure where to turn off the auto update, and my CCwGTV apparently auto updated to some v10.5.xx - I’ll report back if it works or not.

The newest version that my CCwGTV updated to (10.5.xxx) did NOT work, still has the bug. So I uninstalled (AGAIN) and then reinstalled v10.3.xx and it’s working again. Then I figured out that I needed to go to the settings, then apps, THEN I can open the Google Play Store app and select NOT to auto-update. The Google Play Store app did NOT show up along with my other apps on the main screen page called “Apps” - go figure.

I’m having the same problem. Hugely annoying considering it’s been working fine. Only happening on Android mobile and Android TV.

Amazing - that this post has 235 views, 30 replies, and not a single response from PLEX!!

For the benefit of those on this thread, this issue has been acknowledged by Plex on another thread…

Hi just adding to the conversation, thought it was my Plex server that was the issue, even did a Veeam restore of my system to last week when it was working. Only to find out the latest version of the Plex app was the issue. Backdated to version 10.3 and working again.

Love to watch a programme from the start and then skip the ads and this is what was not working. Can’t watch the same channel at the same time as it’s being recorded which is a big feature I like to use. Plex please fix this in your next update!

Adding here as well, I’m having the very same issue on my Nvidia Shield, PLEX, why is this issue still going on??

Its fixed on the latest Beta

Yeah, thanks I noticed that as well. Sorry to sound whiney, but it would have been really helpful for Plex representatives to tell us this instead of making us figure it all out on our own. Oh well.

It’s fixed in the latest version 10.50

Thanks, I’ll let it bake in for a bit, and attempt the upgrade.

Can anybody confirm that 10.50 does continue to work after a couple weeks?
