I was using Plex Server Version 1.14.1.5488 and started an update more than 1 hr ago, and it is still spinning, and I cannot access the server.
If I look in the program directory, the last files were updated 45 min ago. The data directory was also updated 45 min ago.
What should I do now?
Have you shut it down and restarted it already?

No, The message states “Once the server “UD4” has finished installing the update, Plex will automatically try to reconnect to this server.”
Should I kill “Plex Media Server.exe” from Task manager and restart it?
yes it doesn’t take 45 min to update, you’ve already DL’d it not hard to reinstall it again.
I didn’t download the update separately. I updated using a browser connected to the Plex Server.
I am worried about loosing all my settings etc if I kill the server.

Sometimes when I restart the server it sees two UD4, one that it can connect to and the other is unavailable. It then wants to set up the connected server from scratch. In this case, I restart th…
