Upgraded to 1.16.1.1246, now no recordings scheduled

Just upgraded to 1.16.1.1246. Did a guide update. Now I have no scheduled recordings after today. Updated guide again, same problem. I can view the guide for future days, but nothing is scheduled to record.

Interesting. It did find something to record next Wednesday (6/26), but nothing in between. I can see new shows airing (Monday for instance) in the guide. They are marked with the correct season and marked “New” but not scheduled to record even though the show is.

Do I need to go through and re-add all of my shows… (ugh!)

This may be necessary. Please try deleting the DVR and then recreating and adding the scheduled recordings

Thanks for the quick response. Can I just add the recordings again? Deleting and re-adding them is hard because I can’t add shows that do not show up in the guide. So any shows that are not currently airing need to be re-added later when they start airing again, which means I will probably miss creating them at the right time…

OK - just add the ones that are visible in the guide and should have been added but did not.

They fail to get added to the schedule if the matching fails.

For future recordings that are not visible in the guide, we will not know if they may match correctly but we won’t know until they appear in the guide data

With regards to the ones that you can see now in the guide but did not get scheduled, please let me have server logs and names of these programs/episodes/dates

Seems like mixed behavior.
“So you think you can dance” actually queued to record, but doesn’t think it matched (clicking the show in Recordings says “no upcoming recordings” even though it did schedule one). I manually added it, so now I show it recording the same episode twice.
“Celebrity Family Feud” also added an upcoming episode even though it doesn’t look like the show matched (says “no upcoming recordings”)
“Songland” didn’t match at all, so I manually added it
“Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” didn’t match or find any upcoming episodes

I had a similar result, just with nothing showing in my scheduled recordings after upgrading to 1.16.1.1246.

What worked for me was to find one such show I knew I had previously scheduled to record in the guide, then schedule its series recording again. While it showed as a duplicate, it did seem to trigger a re-compute of recordings scheduled, and they now all show. I then deleted my duplicate recording entry.

This update is a disaster! All of my custom channels are not recognised any more so I have had to roll back to Gracenote. Hopefully Plex will give us the option to choose Gracenote’s EPG over Plex’s EPG.

Please let me know what went wrong and if you are able to recreate the DVR - did the migration fail? Any screenshots / debug logs ?

Deleting and recreating the DVR didn’t help.
I started recreating all the shows. Then I discovered that if I just clicked on the show in the “Recordings List” (I think this is the same as “Modify Recording”), and then clicked “Save” it would match and recordings would appear in the schedule.
This is much faster than recreating all of them.

Important: I do not know if this worked on shows that are not currently airing. Time will tell…

I do not know how SageTV managed it, but you were somehow able to search shows outside of the current 2 weeks guide window. Maybe this is something that can be supported using the new EPG?

Why don’t you folks try testing and using this software before dumping it on customers?

While I agree that beta software should be more stable than Plex betas are…the software you are referring to is labeled as beta and thus it’s not “released”. Its only for people who agree to test new software that is expected to have bugs…for the purpose of fixing them before it is released.

The server is NOT beta and regardless of the client used, these bugs exist.

The release announcement says 1.16.1.1246 is released in the beta update channel. 1.16.0.1226 is listed as the “released” to everyone version…am I missing something?

What’s more, 1.16.1.1246 ONLY updates the EPG…so there absolutely no reason to upgrade from 1.16.0.1226 except to TEST the new EPG…they don’t claim anything else fixed, new features or anything.

I fear there wont be another build released before they turn off the old EPG that makes the transition more smooth…but it’s not fair to preemptively judge. Perhaps some EPG magic behind the scenes will help as well…

  • (DVR) Additionally show channel title in DVR setup where only an internal channel identifier is present.

You do need a full guide refresh to correct the errors for E1

I had the same issue, where my recordings didn’t show up after the 1.16.1.1246 update. If I opened the recording and just saved it, they started showing up in the DVR recordings like expected.

Also, how do I kickoff the “full guide refresh”. I saw the EPG update, but not sure if it was the full you speak of.

To do a full refresh goto the settings for the DVR and click on refresh.

Best version yet. USA customer. All my DVR/real time watching bugs have miraculously disappeared :slight_smile: Deleted DVR’s, redid recordings and refreshed EPG.

Having same errors.
Updated to newest edition. Deleted DVR. No fix.

Updated guide twice. No fix.

Deleted recorded series and readded. It adds it fine, it shows on the guide it will record but it says No Recordings scheduled in the Recording tab. It will not look forward to other days in the recordings. It only goes back to Monday when I had recordings working.
