Looking for a guide to set up Plex server on my nas to be operational when there is no internet. The entire system is wired.
Thank you
Thank you Tiberius, for noticing this, and thank you for your guide.
I have tried to implement your suggestions to no avail.
It looks to me as though you are accessing the PMS through a laptop or similar with full browser.
I am trying to get an LG Smart TV, which is wired to a NAS with the PMS and media on it to work when there is no internet, which is often with Australias lauded NBN… Cannot seem to get such a basic setup to work unless the internet is working. Why have Plex made it so hard?
Most Smart TV’s just have an icon that points to the real app out on the internet. There are limited clients like Roku, Plex for Windows and Android TV that have the app settings to point to the server without authentication.
Edit.
This is where Kodi may be a better solution to you using a Pi4 as the display device pointing to the NAS.
