Version 1.19.1.2645 Server broke Samsung access

This remind me one of my post that i said: Why are you doing this? I mean plex now is a lot of things… and sadly almost everything does not work well… See EPG / TIDAL those things that just a “few” users really use. If you are not in the USA or UK there is no point to have it.

Plex should create different verions… If you just want to share you get one version… if you want live / tidal etc… ou should get another version or depending your subscription plex will give you access to the features.

Very upset with this new build. Please think in all the users around the world. I don´t think that a 5 year old tv can be useless. Also, you can still use a 5 year cellfone pretty well.

To avoid putting people in danger!
The security changes was put in for a reason

And they did, which you’ll see if you took the time and read this WHOLE thread

But sadly, something broke from 1.19.1 towards 1.19.2

Then don’t use it!

It’s a PP build, not a release build, so simply roll back!

I can´t My server is a seedbox

Then stop using PP update channel

PP releases ARE BETA !

I am not in control of updates

Then switch to another seedbox provider…

Having a provider, that enforces beta releases is kinda stupid provider, IMHO

I now see that they upgrade to version 1.19.2.2702?

No log?

I have rolled back using the uninstall method and i can get back on to the Plex App on ym Samsumg TV. However, i have noticed that the play, forward etc symbols are also skewed and not the normal self. Weird shaped chevrons and right angles etc.

Anyone else getting this?

Sorry! If i sound rude i apologize… I really like Plex

I see the whole thread… The solution changing the app security settings does not work for me :frowning: The only way to avoid this is rollback the version but as you can see i am not able to do it in my remote linux server.

My local server is fine after roolback

I will check if the version 1.19.2.2702 will sove the problem

THX for yout help!

Braz.

Sadly it doesn’t, and the version that broke it…

1.19.1 worked fine for people, if secure connections was set to preferred, and old TLS/SSL support was enabled

Sadly i can´t rollback to 1.19.1 on my seedbox

Now that the public version got to 1.19.2.2702 for Plex Pass, brace for impact guys.
A lot of servers will be updated to this version and a lot of us still use the “old” TVs.
Maybe you should thing how to adapt to your paying customers, not otherwise. Just saying.
I am tired of all the people being nice on this forum just because they are afraid to upset you, the company they are paying for a service. And this business model with just the forums and no live support is for companies doomed to fail.
Yeah, I now, a lot of us are nerds and won’t need live support most of the times, but there is one time when you need it and they tell you that you should buy new stuff because that what everybody does nowdays.
I am starting to regret i paid you a lifetime pass.

Above was a typo in the release announcement, and has now been corrected.
The released version for everybody is: 1.19.1.2701

So huge thanks for pointing my attention towards that @vallyls

We are actively looking at the issues with 1.19.2.2707

As @dane22 mentions, the build in the public channel is still based on the 1.19.1 stream.

Thanks!

Please create a new post with your issue, since not related to this thread!

Wow. Everything you said is gospel truth. The fanboys are annoying, to the point of harassment, following people from thread to thread at times. The support model is trash. Honestly, most of the TV apps are trash too and have various bugs that I’ve helped people on the forums work around. The xbox app is trash. The LG WebOS app is trash. The FireTV4K app is trash. Android TV app is OK but I can name at least 3 huge bugs that have existed for years. I own all those devices and have settled on AppleTV as being the best plex device.

Plex was a company of tinkerers and by tinkerers and now it’s just a disjointed machine, insulated from and ignoring it’s paying customers who are locked-in. While another very vocal group of greedy people with little technical knowhow act as fanboys for Plex because they know several people who are stupid enough to pay for access to their pirated libraries. sa2000 or whatever his handle is is great, but I can’t think of a single time a plex employee other than him has helped me on these forums. It’s really bizarre.

I know it sucks folks, but plex devs are obviously aware.

Plex never did support this tv system, so blaming them for it getting broke when it was never intended to work, is stretching it.

Hopefully they will get the issue ironed out soon, but if you can’t wait the work around is already been stated.

If you don’t have control over your server, then perhaps you should reconsider your hosting.

Finally, this problem should be a wake up call, cause sooner later something else could break and you might just be completely SOL.

Consider a roku or even fire device instead of relying upon an old, unsupported, and insecure client that could stop working at any time.

Peace.

Not exactly sure that is accurate. Plex published an API that the app was built on so while they didn’t directly support the app they “intended” for others to use that API to create apps which was done and here we are. Saying it was “never intended to work” is a bit of a stretch. My $.02.
