But who support appps for SMART TVs ?
my app is attached picture

To keep flogging this Orca client horse a bit further. If Plex chooses not to test it with a new release then there is a deliberate aspect to consequently breaking it. I for one would at least want a clear warning the next time an update breaks this or any other client.
If you look here it outlines some of this but the wording very, very vague and confusing in regard to Samsung TVs in my opinion. It actually seems like some double talk to be honest.

stahnge thing/////
whyy i cannot see in smartTV hub offcicial plex appâŠonly coded by Orca
When you browse the SmartTV app store from your TV you will only see apps that can be installed on your TV. The âofficalâ Plex app published by Plex only works on Tizen OS based TVs. Most likely your TV is an âolderâ model that is pre-Tizen and therefore the offical Plex app wonât work there. That is were the Orca app comes from and the basis of this entire thread.
if the problem was ONLY about the API, then it would affect alot more than this particular client.
prism, and any other 3rd party apps would be affected.
To repeat myself from above, plex never supported this device in the first place.
how install on my TV Plex_SmartHub_2013_09022019_usb.zip from USB?
[TV] UE40J6390
[TV] UE40J6390 - it is not so oldâŠ2015 but i donât knowâŠTizen or Not
You expect Plex to test every abandon 3.Party app out there, besides their own officially supported apps?
100% clear IMHOâŠ
It says: The app is available on 2016 and newer model year 4K/UHD Samsung sets that are Tizen-based and the Orca client only supported up to 2015 models!
Iâve been a Lifetime Plex Pass user for years and no one understands what constitutes âPlex supportâ better than I do.
If Plex would officially announce the deprecation of the Orca client and replace it with nothing then we can let the fur fly where it may. But if thereâs anything beyond lip service to not breaking a player client whenever PMS gets âupdatedâ then testing seems reasonable.
I do hope that Plex is able to fix that challenge, but first I think we all need to accept that we are having this issue with a server version that is in the Beta channel. If our servers update automatically to a beta version then we cannot blame Plex. @StSimm1 has acknowledged the problem and I am hopeful that they can resolve.
More importantly though I think we all need to prepare for the update they canât fix that breaks our older apps. This was more of a wakeup call for me than anything else. I have a number of older Samsung TVâs and some newer ones. I have been running into more and more issues with my older ones from numerous vendors. The newer Hulu version doesnât work on the older TVâs so I get limited functionality you canât even get a Sling app and numerous others that they just wonât build for our older TVâs.
As mentioned, Iâm hopeful that they Plex team will fix this and give me a couple more years with these older ones, as like most people, I donât have money to waste on TVâs that still work. If they donât Iâll have to suck it up and lose that functionality on some TVâs and watch my Plex on the ones that work.
I am no way a Plex fanboy on this, just a realist. I have been extremely critical of the Plexâs switch to a new EPG as the data feed has so many errors it is a sh*t show and makes their DVR completely unreliable. Everytime I think they have it resolved, they fail me again. So I am aligned with everyone that they have numerous areas of improvement, but also resigned to the fact that the days for my old TVâs are numbered with pretty much all apps.

The orca client was made by a regular user.
Plex has never supported orca (hence the user created app), which unfortunately has been abandoned.
All of you got years worth of use of an app which never supported in the first place.
Truly it is unfortunate, even more unfortunate for the original author in that it got abandoned due to health issues.
Itâs been abandoned for a long long time.
The lack of built in plex app doesnât make your tv any less useful, you just need to use an external streaming device, just like the thousands or millions of other users with one.
I donât subscribe to the Beta channel and happened to have already had the âcorrectâ settings in PMS to avoid this particular problem with the Orca client.
There have been prior occasions where PMS got updated only to break something with the Orca client because, apparently, it doesnât get tested.
We have identified an issue with the Orca app and will be releasing a tweaked 1.19.2 early next week to work around the issue.
Credit to @dane22 for finding the culprit!
Good to hear. Thank you.
I realize Plex canât support everything forever but please try to keep Orca useful as long as practicable and warn us when itâs end is near.
@StSimm1 glad to hear that. Thanks
David
this entire thread should be a warning.
but no doubt some of you will keep your blinders and earplugs in, and come back screaming bloody murder the next time.
any case, glad to hear a resolution has been found and coming soon.
peace out
Many thanks, @StSimm1
I have the same problem here. For two or three days already.
When reinstalling the App on the Samsung TV, I can navigate through settings, but when I want to go to my collection it hangs. After turning off and on the TV it hangs directly.
I have a UE65HU8500 Samsung TV, My Plex server runs on an Apple MAC 27" i7 with 32GB mem and the storage is on a Synology DS 1813+ (Plex uses 25TB of storage).
Same like:
And some moreâŠ
How do I do this with an Apple?
