Hey Guys, Hope everyone is well today. Quick Question. Did something change in the view settings? I just ran a quick update on my Plex Server and I like Folder view, because I keep my movies and some sports organized by Genera and Years, etc. After the update, while in folder view - I’m just seeing detailed view now for the items inside the folder? I want just the gridview inside the folder, but it appears that option is now gone?
So to be clear, I have a Films Folder, and then I have types of films (action adventure, Drama, etc) and I can see the folders listed in Folder view, when I click inside the folder, I would normally see the grid of the movies in the folder, which I like. Now I see just a list of movies from top to down with details of the movies (like details view) There’s no option in the top right to change the grid/details etc view unless I set the view from Folders to Movies (then I get an option to change Grid / Detail or Table - I want this option in Folder view? What happened?
BTW, I’m using Firefox to browse my collection on a laptop.
Yeah, the view has definitely changed with the latest update. In my case it no longer respects my sorting choices (Unplayed → Movies → By Date Added) and it defaults to to the default (All → Movies → By Title) as soon as I click on the Movies shortcut on the sidebar or on the name of the library that holds them at the top.
I don’t want to see my played movies in my current view by default, that’s why I hid them. This view no longer persists – I’m currently considering rolling back to the previous version.
I don’t understand why “features” of removing views and changing views are done. Having the different options for grid view and list and details is fine but forcing a view after your users have all set their preferred views seems not like a good ideas. Doesn’t make sense to me
I will say the view has not changed on the Samsung TV app, which is really not a surprise since that seems to be the last app updated with any new things. It’s just when I’m viewing it on the computer that it’s forcing a detail list view
I agree, I pretty much only used the grid view and now it’s gone. I understand updating feature and stuff but don’t remove the basic view abilities. I would very much like grid view back ASAP
