Still no fix ? Really…
I’ve rolled back to v1.22.3.4523 (which was the last “good” version before this ridiculous change occurred), and that’s exactly where I’ll be staying until I read in these forums that this issue has been addressed.
PLEX, Please go back to the gridview as it was before. SERIOUSLY.
You have a good product but you are you messing up your own income.
Just adding my vote as well - Plex Staff, if you’re listening, please, please, PLEASE bring back grid view! I organize my movies in folders that made it incredibly easy to find what I was looking for quickly. But now I have to scroll through hundreds of movies - I HATE this list view! Please bring back the nice clean grid!
It looks like they don’t like our money because if this does not get fixed then I’ll definitely cancel my subscription.
Please vote for these feature selections…
Lets get the vote count up.
And now with the latest AppleTV update, the grid view is removed there as well. What idiot thinks this is a good idea?? At what point, at what level of complaints will it get through to the staff that we want the damned grid view BACK!!
This was, quite frankly, a retarded decision to make, to get rid grid view when viewing by Folders.
No clue what Plex were ‘thinking’ here, as to why removing a very useful choice was a good idea.
I too cannot believe that this was intentional - well I hope it wasn’t.
PLEASE bring back the Folder view options to the WEB and Windows App.
Plex Media Server Version 1.24.5.5173 is available for me. Is Grid View back yet?
If not, I’ll stick with Version 1.22.3.4523, which is the last version to work properly.
Does anyone from Plex ever read these or reply? Has there been any solution to allowing grid view or other layout options that have been removed in certain modes like when browsing by folder?
I was prompted to update my server app remotely after I recently installed the mobile app on my phone. Unsuspectingly I agreed, but the new version now blows away the view options I want.
I guess I will see if I can uninstall and reinstall an older version, and report back.
Version 1.22.3.4523 is the latest version of Plex Media Server for which I could confirm grid view works.
I downloaded a random copy of this that I could find on the internet but can confirm it does work as a solution. Once again Plex is failing their users by not providing an official download to their older versions. Note, uninstalling the existing version was necessary first.
I too am very disappointed with the default Detailed View when browsing my movies in folders instead of the choice for Grid and Table views as well. I was at first assuming that this was a mistake and would be fixed but it has been about ten months now and still nothing. I have read multiple posts/threads and haven’t seen any PLEX response. I can’t fathom any rationale that would have resulted in making such a horrible change.
What is wrong with giving your paying users the choice of how they want to display their media.
Come on PLEX! Man up and take responsibility and tell us WHY you made the change. We can understand if it was a necessary change but please give us the reason that choice was removed. PLEX users are passionate and are brand loyal, but like the airlines say - we have other choices.
I see suggestions to vote for this as a feature request, but it should be a feature return. It was a choice – PLEASE return it. We should not have to submit it as a feature request. Just PLEASE reinstate the option.
I don’t participate in beta testing, but will am checking into it. My son and I are both IT professionals and are familiar with how this should work.
I see that Plex has chosen to ignore its users. Cant wait to meet an employee and lavish my love upon them…losers…
Just an update I now have close to 7000 movies & tv shows, and yes no grid view is still a major BIOTCH!!!
