WHAT is going on with the Movie Ratings?!?!

This keeps happening and it is ridiculously annoying.

Is there not a damn agent / setting for the library that works and sticks??

Fiddling with the settings to get stuff to work but randomly some movies keep showing up blank!

For example, THE LION KING 2019, even though it was a major global release, won’t pick up IMDB ratings. Same for AD ASTRA 2019, no IMDB, IRISHMAN 2019, no IMDB.

Tweaked around to move stuff up/down in priority, and changed it from TMDB agent to PLEX MOVIE agent, no luck.

I did the Plex Dance too, no luck.

Finally, I said F it, and decided to try Rotten Tomatoes rating… and shockingly now Lion King has the Rotten Tomatoes Rating, but the other 2 still don’t.

What priority/agents do you guys use?

I have heard the BS excuses before like “Imdb ratings are for select movies only, for example, you wont get ratings for limited release” – if that holds true, I can understand why Irish Man wouldnt have IMDB ratings, but… Lion King should… Ad Astra should… and since they don’t that excuse/line of thinking is bs.

Even RAMBO 2019 wont pull IMDB ratings.

Which agents/priority do you guys use for your movies to bypass this broken nonsense?? Getting fed up of logging into plex every week and seeing a dozen items literally blank.

I can get TMDB ratings, but I don’t want them, as the TMDB ratings are out to lunch, usually rating a movie that is 40% on imdb at a 78%+++ …

Again I have done the Plex Dance, by removing the movies from the existing library, deleted , optimized, cleared junk, added a new library for a HANDFUL of movies to test… no fix.

@tvebax was the savvy user that finally figured this out.

The short answer is this- no matter what agent we priotizie for movie ratings, we’re getting whatever source Plex cached it from- because that’s where we’re getting it from. Very unfortunate they basically sat on this for years until a customer figured it out.
