Windows reinstall, No Server Settings, Cannot Make a New Server

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

So here is the Issue I have been experiencing.

I reinstalled Windows 10 the other day and after getting Windows 10 updated and all drivers installed; I installed Plex. I have done this several times in the past with no issue, but this time. when I start the Plex Media Server there is a spinning loading icon and it says that the server is initializing. It just hangs here.

When I restart the program, it says I am not authorized. I then have to go into the registry and delete the four registry entries that the plex trouble shooting guide says to do. This allow me to log back into the server but I get the same initializing message a loading icon.

I have tried completely deleting all registry entries for plex and reinstalling plex after restarting Windows 10.

In addition to the initializing message, all of the server setting are missing from the left screen.

I really don’t know what to do next. I have looked in the forums but I cannot find a solution to the issue.

Maybe New Claiming Requirement for Windows

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, this has not resolved the issue.

I still get this screen

If I wait I get this screen.

Then, when I sign out and sign back in, I get this.

Why are you signing out?

Sorry, my phasing was wrong there, I do not sign out of plex. If I close the plex program or close the web browser I get the not authorized message.

Are you using a 3rd-party anti virus software?
Which web browser are you using?
Is your Windows really up-to-date with the latest updates?

For antivirus software I use bitdefender and I have made sure that the plex media server program has access through the firewall on all ports.

I am using the most recent build of mozilla firefox.

To my knowledge windows is completely up to date. When I tell windows to check it says it is up to date.

Disable and try again to claim your server.

Make sure you are not using any browser extensions which interfere and change the data communication. Best to disable them all temporarily.

I have turned off the bitdefender firewall and I have uninstalled all firefox extensions.

I am still having the same issue.

Have you tried the method with the Setup Plex.html file from the linked article?

" Have you tried the method with the Setup Plex.html file from the linked article?"

Yes,

This I have tried and gotten the same results.

See if you have more luck after using “Method 2.2” in here, before trying to claim the server: You need to reclaim your server, but don’t dare to touch the Windows Registry

Otto,

You’re a steely-eyed missile man. Your 2.2 method fixed it.
