You have to get the app to reload the content.
Basically you can go into some sub category and then press “Go Home” in the top right corner, which should trigger a reload of the Home-screen.
If this doesn´t work you can force close the app (go to the xbox dashboard, hit menu => close) and then relaunch it.
But normally the first method should work.
This is annoying. It’s all gone very quiet again lately - haven’t seen an update from the devs in a while which is a shame, I thought we were expecting quicker iteration after the last long delay?
Don’t worry, we’re still working away on stuff. The last two releases were the result of several months of work - but we caught up with the release matching current code last release, so it is (unfortunately) appearing like a slow down.
Hopefully have something exciting for you all soon.
Thanks Dom - any details? Things I’ve seen asked about a lot (and am particularly interested in) are direct play fix for NXE (may be down to Microsoft though), Plex Home and the removal of the PlexPass restriction? And of course the refresh issue mentioned in the OP.
Honestly, we still haven’t fixed up the managed users for Plex Home yet (we have the slightly over the top workaround for full Plex users and individual xb1 accounts).
DP on NXE still seems a wider problem than ‘just’ us, but we’re looking into it.
Still have a handful of things I’d like us to bash out before we graduate from PlexPass. The good news is that we’re working on all of those now.
Had a good suggestion on this refresh issue as well - since the app is often ‘always’ running, it’s difficult to know when we should refresh these things. But it was suggested we could do so on getting app focus back. I’ll give it a shot.

When it does come time to update the Xbox One app with managed users functionality, can it be setup so once a pin is entered it doesn’t have to be entered every time for the same xbox account? The way the Xbox 360 managed users works, every single time I turn on the xbox 360, I have to enter a pin. It’s more trouble then it’s worth so I never use the Xbox 360 app. If the Xbox One is setup the same way, it’ll be better just to stick with the current “over the top” workaround.
I’m having the same issue. It won’t displayTV shows when I click on the category, however, movies works fine.

also this is a new issue because it did not happen last night perhaps the media server update today in the cause.

Thanks for the reports, we’ve identified the issue. We’re going to push out a server hotfix release for this particular issue until we can get an Xbox One update out with a fix, really sorry about that!

0.9.12.15 just landed with a workaround until we update the client. Hopefully that fixes it for you!

I am still running into this issue using the latest build (9.14.1). I have to actually quit the XBox app and restart it for the “watched” count or new shows to be displayed.
Note: I have tried using the “Go home” and that does not seem to work.
I stupidly answered the wrong question in this thread The ‘doesn’t show TV shows at all’ was fixed in 0.9.12.15 of PMS. The ‘app doesn’t refresh shows until you restart it’ has been raised as in internal ticket and we’ll try and resolve that soon.
Ahh ok – looking forward to a fi for the app doesn’t refresh watched/unwatched soon
