Server Version#: Version 1.32.4.7195
Player Version#: Version 4.111.1
I’ve got three recently-added folders, 30 Rock being one of them, that I just can’t get to match in Plex. Past experience says it’s a file/folder naming issue, but I can’t spot where I’ve gone wrong.
On the main TV Shows menu, I see the black card for 30 Rock. If I click on the three dots in the lower right hand corner of that card and choose Match, the “Fix Match” dialog displays with “No matches found.” There’s a clickable Search Options link in the upper right of the Fix Match dialog, but clicking on it does nothing:
Thank you for the reply. I’m not seeing a search field that will accept an entry. When I initially click the ellipsis and then Match, I see:
And then clicking Search Options shows the second image in my first post. Neither has a field that will accept a search term. Or am I misunderstanding?
Not sure if it is enough to mess up matching, but some of your episode names have 2007 instead of 2006. The year in the folder/file name is always the first year of the show, not when the episode actually aired.
Hm, you’re right. I thought I’d seen in the Examples section of this Plex support article that episode years sometimes differed from the season year. My eyes must have been playing tricks on me. I’ll change that and see what happens.
It’s strange: when I click Settings | Manage | Libraries | TV Shows | Edit Library, options there can’t be selected. Should they be? (And am I looking in the correct location to check what agents are being used?)
Apologies. Returning to Settings | Manage | Libraries | TV Shows | Edit Library: as I mentioned earlier, options there can’t be selected. The Advanced option on the left can’t be clicked. As @JaysPlex indicates, no language is selectable in the General tab of that same dialog.
Perform a manual server update to the latest Beta version:
Stop/quit/end Plex Server with the tray icon
deinstall Plex Server with the regular ‘Apps’ control panel of Windows
(do not use 3rd party ‘Uninstaller’ software like Revo etc.
do not use “Registry Cleaner/optimizer” software like CCleaner et al)
for safety, reboot Windows
download the installation exe of the newest version and install it
Afterwards, make sure to use a standard web browser without any browser add-ins.
Use the hosted web app, not the local one.
Many thanks for this help. I will need to undertake those steps when I have more time and headspace, but I will follow up here with the results. Thanks again.
I wrote earlier to say “FIXED,” but editing now to say that although I was able to match the shows in those three new folders, I’m still seeing what JaysPlex7 pointed out: no language drop down and the menu items on the left are that screen shot are not clickable.
This problem returned, and so this morning I followed the same steps provided earlier. The download was the same this time as it was previously: PlexMediaServer-1.32.5.7328-2632c9d3a-x86_64. After the reboot/re-install, I was able to correctly match a show that was exhibiting the problem described previously. In addition, things seemed to be working correctly here:
I put the computer’s configuration, including enabling the Privado VPN client, back to rights, and rebooted.
After the reboot the same problems returned. I quit the Plex server, disabled the VPN, and launched Plex. No problems. I enabled the VPN. The problems returned. So I’ve managed to determine that the VPN is causing the problem.
(Incidentally, all other Plex functions seem to work fine with the VPN enabled, including streaming inside/outside of my home.)
No doubt the next troubleshooting phase should be with the VPN provider, but can you give me info to aid in that process? I’m using these settings:
